Since the unification of Earth under a single government - the Terran Union, headquartered on an artificial island in the Atlantic -, man has begun to colonise the solar system. Luna, Mars, the moons of Jupiter and Saturn... great networks of biodomes litter the surface of the once barren worlds. But man's first colony is growing restless. Lunarians feel they're being mistreated by the imperialist Terrans. A fight for independence is coming... and it's time for the moon's inhabitants to pick sides.
The Hawking Dome. One of the biggest habitats on the Lunar surface, second only to Armstrong. It is also a city on the verge of conflict. An unusual number of police and Terran Spaceforce soldiers underline the region's heightened state of tension. It is rumoured that the Lunar Independence Movement is headquartered there - an increasingly revolutionary protest group poised to go terrorist. This is the place to go to pick a side in the impending carnage to come. Will you enlist with the Terran Spaceforce? Will you join the LIM in their revolutionary war? Or will you side with the secret Colonial Special Forces in their covert attempts to stop the war from kicking off in the first place? The choice is yours...
Joining you... an unusual 12-year-old boy from the Gagarin Dome - a scientific hub known for some truly shady experiments. Attempts to fuse human and monkey DNA had created there a new race of being known as Primians. Appearing as humans with prehensile tails and simian feet, and not normally particularly intelligent, the hundred-or-so members of this new species work as labour assistants for the scientists there. They are practically slaves, treated as inferiors. Kiro, however, displayed some unusual intelligence. A prodigy even by human standards. Granted his freedom in exchange for a small amount of genetic material for further examination, the boy was released into the Lunar public. He now finds himself in Hawking, looking to put his skills with electronics, software and gymnastics to good use. Young and impressionable, the child could be convinced to join either side...
