Only a few years ago, the USS Voyager returned to Alpha Quadrant. All over Federation space, people celebrated this miracle. But for a neutral colony on the Federation frontier, it was to be the last piece of good news to cross their ears. An unknown threat was looming on the edge of known space. Their homes now destroyed, four survivors find themselves being carried to safety aboard a modified Starfleet Aeroshuttle. Four children - now orphans - with only two junior Starfleet officers to defend them. But when the shuttle sets down on a neutral spaceport for resupplying, things are about to take a turn for the worse...

The Lieutenant in charge of the shuttle poked his head into the crew compartment, a look of worry and desperation on his face. "Stay here," he ordered the four children huddled here in this room. "If we don't return within an hour, leave without us and don't look back. Find a Federation-controlled system and activate the distress beacon. Everything will be ok!" And with that, the door closed, shutting the room out from the rest of the ship.

Fifteen minutes passed... then thirty. Forty-five... one hour.

Nothing.

No sign of the starfleet officers.

Alone and with clear instructions, it is now up for this rag-tag group of surviving children to rescue themselves from whatever danger is lurking on this station...




Format: 1x1 (I'd love to do this as a group, but in my experience, group RPs never last very long before someone disappears. Thus I'm only accepting 1x1s right now).

Requirements: Characters must be of the age of 8 - 16 years. Preferably, use 2 characters each (though if you really must use only one, I can use a third myself to make up the numbers).

Characters:

Conn (Helm): <Available>

Ops: Kiro - a native 12-year-old from the planet that was recently ravaged, Kiro's people had just attained spaceflight when human colonists seeking independence from the Federation emigrated to their world, ignoring the prime directive. Whilst the colonists came and went, very few of Kiro's species ever chose to leave the planet's surface. Their world now destroyed, the survivors number in their hundreds. Humans refer to them as Primians - a mixture of 'primate' and 'simian' in reference to their monkey-like feet and long prehensile tails.

Engineering: <Available>

Science: Kyricx - A member of the non-canon Áelva species - a relatively new addition to the Federation -, 11-year-old Kyricx was on Primia in accompaniment of his father, a diplomat, who was to establish formal relations between the human colony there and the Federation. Distinguishable by their large, horizontal, pointed ears, the Áelva are especially known for having a strong affinity with nature. Instead of surnames, they tattoo their family crest on the faces of their offspring.

Note: I can relocate my characters to different stations if your own choices fit other ones better or don't have enough knowledge to even attempt to operate a shuttlecraft.

The ship:

Class: Aeroshuttle (modified for long-range missions)

Name: USS Arawn

Note: for the sake of ease (and lack of official material on the class) and due to the fact that the two classes have similar specs, the interior schematics will be based on the Danube class runabout. Don't worry if you're not familiar with the exact layout.

No magic at all.
Technology 90%
Far future, perhaps interstellar travel (faster than light)
Combat 50%
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.

I only have one starfleet officer, but we can probably find a second one.. I do have a few to choose from..

I think you're misinterpreting my proposed idea... the idea was to have a group of 4 children struggling to try to operate a shuttlecraft in a lawless frontier of space. That being said, if you're willing to age down your starfleet officer for this particular RP, she could always be a teenaged cadet, which would definately help the other kids learn the basic operations of the ship. As for a second character, they don't need to be from starfleet, so long as they can fit the setting and are either in the 8-16yr age range or can be easily aged down to such.
Well, It was just an idea, and with the age down, my Starfleet teen cadet could be on vacation with a friend, or visiting a friend.. And somehow get mixed up in your story.. How about that??

With two characters maybe Alicia and Alice would be a good choice?? at the age of 14 and 13.. While offworld visiting Alice's grandparents in frontier space..
