The city is a nasty place, full of nasty people. From the corrupt at the top to the lowlifes at the bottom, crime runs rampant. And whilst the middle class goes about its day oblivious to the darkness, those at the top line their pockets with ill-gotten money and those at the bottom squabble over murder, theft and vandalism. One boy knows this all too well. A boy born into this world , witnessing these atrocities on a daily basis. He has had enough... but he's young and inexperienced. Such a child is only going to get himself killed... unless a saviour can come along and point him in the right direction.
12-year-old Kiro has lived on the streets for a few years now. A mutant by birth, his simian resemblences point to a past as dark as his present. Fighting crime has become one of his main pastimes... no; more than that... it's become his life. But alone and untrained, all he can manage is saving old ladies' purses, knocking out the odd armed thug and hacking into illicit websites to shut down human trafficking rings. What he needs is a mentor... someone who can turn him into the sort of vigilante that makes supervillains cower in fear. And someone who can take him off the streets and give him a home.
Essentially, what I'm looking for is a batman-like vigilante who can take Kiro under their wing, not just as a student/sidekick but also as an adopted child.
I like the whole grittiness of heroes with less obvious superpowers (or none at all), so my preference is toward people fitting that description. I plan to use the simian variation of Kiro (as outlined on his character profile) without his ice magic ability.
Format is 1x1. The world can be either original, DC or Marvel. OCs are preferred, but canons are permissible. Acceptable canons include Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Batman. Or anyone else with similar power levels, though don't expect me to be as versed in their details as the aforelisted.
On very, very, rare occasions there may be unexplained, POSSIBLY supernatural events. Minor "environmental" magic. Perhaps implies the existence of a deity or supernatural entity. Or perhaps it's just tricks?
Near future, perhaps cloning and genetic manipulation
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.

Stands to reason, character history-wise that the city the RP'll be set in could be London if you're ok with that. I'm assuming the stuff you're subtracting is the satanic-y stuff, correct?
