I mostly friend people I'm already friends with, or people whose characters really interest me and I want to keep track of. If there's one thing that tires me out it's being spammed with notifications (if not for these, why bother friending someone in the first place?) about people whom I don't know or whose activities don't interest me too much.
That's not to be mean or picky or anything, but friending everyone I see on the site or ever post to doesn't mesh with what I look for.

Well I'm new here so I'll probably accept any requests I get right now haha. I actually tend to do that no matter where I go. If you don't open yourself up to new people, how will you ever make friends? It's not like you can't ever ignore them if you end up hating them, right?
