Heya! I'm Cursed. So basically, I'm creating a Jujutsu Kaisen group roleplay that uses a fairly simple dice system for combat. The show/manga itself is about sorcerers who take care of curses using cursed weapons and cursed techniques just to put some brief information.
My idea so far is let whoever put up a mission be the GM of said mission. My problem is whether I should allow the GMs to also play as their character or not. I have heard some good stories of GMs playing player characters and some awful ones from the DND community. What are your thoughts?

I think it's a solid idea to have "rotating" GMs like that, as long as you have a solid system to pin rulings on - I don't know how much emphasis you'll have on hard mechanics vs freeform RP.
In any case, I think you should broadly disallow GMs playing as their own characters in games they start, precisely because you won't know whether people are capable of not turning it into My Show, Starring Me (and Also Everyone Else But They're Less Important).
It's likely that fewer people total will then start threads as GMs - people do want to play their own characters - however, I think if you can foster a community where people get the idea of "taking turns", it could work out beautifully!
I have on occasion had one of my own D&D characters do a sort of cameo appearance in the games I've run, but I've always had it be strictly short term (they come in with a very easily defined and attainable goal that happens to align with the party's), and they've always been a level or two lower than the PCs, because I want to lower the risk of my character stealing the spotlight without making them a burden. I don't know if that's an option for you to mandate in your game?

I'd probably disallow it but encourage them to play in other people's missions. That way they get to DM and play in the same system, just not in their own storylines, outside of the necessary playing of NPCs to keep the mission going.
