In an alternate history version of Earth, humanity shares the world with dragons. Intelligent and capable of speech, some as large as ships, others no bigger than an elephant. Some fire-breathers and acid-spitters, others acrobatic flyers or brutish juggernauts. Humans form bonds of friendship and camaraderie with these dragons and fly into battle with them, sometimes entire crews of men armed with flintlock and cutlass.
As Napoleon’s armies march across Europe, his dragons fight to conquer the skies. The Royal Aerial Corps of Britain fights a desperate battle to keep the would-be invaders at bay. Outnumbered and outclassed by the dragons of the continent, they are constantly searching for more aviators and beasts to join their ranks and help stave off the enemy. It is in this dire time that you join the Corps.
Hello! This is the premise of the Temeraire book series, an all time favorite of mine and highly recommended to any who enjoy dragon rider fiction. And alternate history as well. I’m hoping to start a long term one on one rp, or perhaps a small group if there is interest in it. While knowledge of the series would be greatly welcome, I’d be just as happy to introduce newcomers to the setting and guide them along. What I need are dragons and aviators. Someone to play as a dragon or their captain (rider for a more traditional title, although there are no magical bonds in this setting) I can fill either role myself. If there are enough interested players, we could make a formation of dragons and their crews. While the story is meant to be set during the Napoleonic Wars as well, I’d be open to taking this concept to different time periods. Piracy in the Caribbean, the American or French Revolutions, anything that might catch your eye. History is long and can always be improved with more dragons. So if this is the sort of thing you’d be into, please don’t hesitate to message me!

More combat than not. The setting may be at war, and the characters will likely get involved whether or not they seek it out.
No romance at all will be included in this plot, period.
