The Orre Region - a region with a past filled with controversy and hardship. A region formerly underdeveloped and host to many notorious gangs and evil teams. But now, great strides have been made to try and modernize and enhance the Orre Region into something much more than it was. Vast terraforming projects have begun, introducing new Pokémon into the region and allowing for the growth of settlements throughout the land. A new program for up-and-coming trainers has been established, allowing people to get a Pokémon without needing to spend a fortune importing one from another region. And while an official league has not yet been established, the inner workings of one are well underway!
However... not all is going as smoothly as can be. Backlash has been mounting amongst the public for the attempted removal of Colosseums that are so unique to the region in favor of an actual league system. New political figures in Orre, believing the shady history of these Colosseums as fronts for Cipher in the past, as well as ways to launder money, believe these relics of a more barbaric and lawless Orre should be removed. The public argues and protests that these are symbols of the best of the best that Orre has to offer for trainers, both local and international. And some go as far as to say this is merely a publicity stunt to try and gain favor amongst other regions. For now, the Colosseums stay.

Set ten years after the second Shadow Pokémon Incident, this RP will take place in the Orre Region. A region stuck between an old wild-west style of Pokémon battling, where rules were scarce and Pokémon battling was an extremely serious passion, only the rich and or dedicated got into. And the new future being developed for it, where Pokémon battling and training is far more accessible for the people of Orre than ever before.
So who are you then?
A trainer native to Orre? Striking out on their own for the first time? Either to catch and battle Pokémon, or perhaps to help the terraforming project?
Perhaps you are a tourist? A famous professor or trainer interested in seeing the development of the region? Or maybe just someone who craves adventure? Or someone planning to join the science team? Challenge Mt Battle? The Colosseums?
Or perhaps... you've noticed certain, powerful Pokémon from your region have gone missing. And tracked their disappearance back to Orre...
Whoever you are, whatever your reason for being here is... You have set foot into a brand new world. It may not always be fair, it may not always be kind, but it will shape you significantly if you allow it to...
(The two primary characters that will be used for this RP on my end will be Cain and Ellen. How much either shows up depends on what parts of Orre your character takes an interest in primarily.
I am posting this in the Open for Anyone category- but for full transparency, the owner of this anonymous profile is an Adult. I'm primarily posting here because I've had problems in the past with people seeing a Pokémon RP in the 18+ RP section and making assumptions about the kind of RP I am looking for, or trying to insert said content into it. Even if I've made it perfectly clear that I don't want that content in the RP. So, hopefully this plainly and very clearly gets across that I am not looking for NSFW content of any kind in this rp.
Romance is fine, if both parties are comfortable with it, of course.
I'm not looking for perfection or high-grade writing skills. If you can put a few detailed lines together and stitch them into a paragraph, and your character interacts with stuff- that is all I need! Promise, I'm a lot more easygoing and approachable than the above paragraph suggests.
I will add, I'm not really interested in Human/Pokemon hybrids or fusions, I may let talking Pokemon slide, given the Anime and the Games have had very rare instances of Pokemon learning how to speak.
I'm also flexible on the whole battling thing; there doesn't have to be stats and rolls to determine stuff like attacks unless my partner would find such a thing interesting!
As for me, I am in the Mountain Standard Time timezone. And I sometimes have trouble remembering to reply to things- so if it has been a few days, send a message or two my way.

Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Romance is slightly desired, but the overall plot is more important.
