This is a space to muse with my characters, either in poetry or prose. I tend to muse a lot; it helps me to get into the character's mindset, explore ideas, and engage in character and storyline development. It's also very therapeutic for me. Musings are typically short; Drabbles are a bit longer. Some of my work is in the third person, while others will be in the first person point of view.
I'm aware of the grammar and spelling rules. There is a character whom I write with a Southern accent to capture authenticity, and because when I hear his voice in my mind, this is how he talks. Please note that the way I write his accent is intentional.

I listened to the call of the mountains. Their lonesome, wayward serenade. It had been a while…I’d been away for so long, I could feel the summons in m’bones. I thought they had abandoned me—turns out I’d abandoned them. Yet they are forgiving, as I drove down their winding roads, feelin’ the pull of sycamores, evergreens, and oaks. Their barren limbs reach for me, and I feel the tender embrace of the ancient ones that never truly slumber. I have the wild call within me, and there ain’t no changin’ what’s in m’blood. I knew then that I was home. A home that remains eternal.
