I need some help setting up my race of flying humanoids. I want them to be more correct take on flying humanoid instead just being human-sized flying humanoids. Below is a description them that I of them so far.
Physical description: They are a diminutive race of winged aliens who stand only three feet tall. Stone-colored scales cover their athletically built body. Two leathery wings that are stone-colored protrude from their back. The joints of the wings are laced with razorlike claws. These wings measure nine feet from wingtip to wingtip. Their faces are broad and flat. Rising above their heads are their raggedly pointed ears that curve backwards. The large, round eyes that they possess are bright yellow in color with large pupils. Instead of a normal nose, they have two slits. The teeth of a carnivore line their jaws. A talon of bone caps both of their hand’s two fingers and thumb. A keel that serves as an attachment site for the muscles used for flight is located on their breastbone. Extending from the end of their spine is a tail that is six inches in length. Both of their legs end in a large, splayed foot, which has three clawed toes.

Well, let's try this to see if we can find the issue on these flying humanoids.
As far as I can see you do not have some winged humans, I can recognize bats. The largest existing bats only having a wingspan of up to 6 feet and a body of only 1 foot, the golden crowned flying fox. The only difference with bats, your species has arms and wings, as on bats the arms are the wings, but still with clawed joints. The bones in a bat wing are fingers, and used as those.
So you describe this alien species as humanoid, as winged species. What you do well is the description of a protruding breastbone (which is flat on humans) where the wings are attached. For me it looks like as if that species wears a breast piece that looks like a 'hand', a claw clip with wings. Two 'claws' over the shoulder, two or more along the sides, made of bone material and fix to the body that come together on that keel. The problem you might have, if you want to be more accurate as humanoid, are the muscles. In humans and animals every move is made with a contraction of muscles, so are wings. For bats or birds, pectoral muscles are used for the wings, but within humans for the arms. You have both, so you need other contracting muscles to make these wings move, in my opinion, these muscles go above the 'human' muscles. So my idea to put them in these 'clip-alike' extensions holding the wings to the body and accurately fixed to that keeled breastbone.
Those are no humans with wings, mostly described as angels.
I hope I'm clear, and as said, it's how I see those aliens you describe. And I don't see simple humans with wings..

They were never suppose to look like angels or humans or humanoids with wings at all.
