This Rp is meant to follow the modern world after a mutated disease, previously gone extinct aside from one lab holding it in containment, is set free. This virus affects all life forms where cells go through active cycles (all living things, including plants).
For this rp specifically, I planned for it to be two survivors meeting up, deciding to work together to find a rumored safe haven. All characters that fit the modern world are welcomed! I just ask for no outright Mary-sue oc's, characters balanced by strengths and flaws. My plan is for long responses, paragraphs, but I also understand if some situations its not possible to write long lengths; I just ask it not to be overly constant and to have some length.

For more background info: The virus spread rapidly, and over the course of a few years the world fell into shambles as governments collapsed and the dead began to walk again. The 'zombies' however, aren't the slow decaying corpse, but humans (or animals) overgrown by parasites looking for food or a host, retaining above-average speeds and violence tendencies to take down anything that's not already infected. Many buildings have been overtaken and destroyed by either bombs or the virus (no electricity or commonly found clean water), and danger almost everywhere.
Infected types:
Roamers: Infected that walk the streets idly, they never stop even when their legs literally fall off. Once locked onto a target, they almost never stopped until they're killed.
Stationaries:Corpses who's bodies rotted away that the virus has no structure to use, and are therefore stuck wherever their victim was, and wait for unsuspecting victims to wonder too close and snatch them.
Echos:Blinded or otherwise majorly disabled, the type before becoming a Stationary. They use vibrations from the ground and air around them to find their prey.
Infected plants are stationary until disturbed, then they go for the kill by either suffocation, crushing, or impalement.

Modern
More combat than not. The setting may be at war, and the characters will likely get involved whether or not they seek it out.
Romance is slightly desired, but the overall plot is more important.
