After that big, long hug, she pushed herself off of him, wiped her tears away and looked him in the eyes. "It's fine, I mean, I still want an explanation but for now it's fine." With her right hand she pushed her black hair behind her ear. "So? Why did you need me here? And why isn't mom here with us?"
Her stomach growl and she made a embarrassed face. "Sorry, I didn't eat tonight. I was supposed to eat late with mom since she's almost never home, we eat dinner together when she is. Around 11, but your guys kinda 'picked' me up." Both of her hands, she put them in her pockets, because she didn't really know what to do with them. It was all so strange and new. How do you talk to your father, whom you've never interacted with?

When his daughter moved back, he placed a fingertip against the ear piece and said, "Thank you, House. Good job. And Sly--keep that up, and I'll find tests for them to run in the infirmary that will have you walking funny." Why--that was a joke. Said with a smile evident in his voice, even. Will wonders never cease.
Turning his attention quickly back to his daughter, he said, "Sorry about that. And--let's talk about it while we get you something to eat. The food my not be the fine dining you're used to, but it'll fill you up." With that, he took a half-step back and indicated a hall behind him.
The initial jocularity brought about by reuniting with his daughter was starting to be replaced with--uncertainty, really. So many things to say, without knowing how to say them; questions to ask, doubtless plenty of questions to answer. It--was almost daunting, really.

"I'm sure whatever you guys eat will be fine for me too." She said smiling. Even though she grew up richer then the others, she wasn't a brat and was happy with everything she got.
After following through the hall, she turned to him. "Okay, so I know that there are many questions to ask but one thing I need to know." When she sat down, she folded her hands and narrowed her eyes. "Why did you bring me here? I've been doing fine.. Not that I'm not happy to see you. I'm just wondering what good I am to you here." Her eyes observed the mans face. His face was so farmiliar yet so unknown to her. Her mom had told her so much about him and her dreams gave her a different image then the man standing before her.
