What do you guys think about finishing a roleplay? Do you think that completing a roleplay is important no matter how boring it is or do you think that you should just drop it if you lose interest in it?

I don't think many people would expect someone to finish a roleplay they weren't enjoying. The trick is leaving graciously and not just storming out or ignoring the other player.
I think it is absolutely critical to finish a game no matter the condition. If a group is beginning to get boring and drawn out as many RPG's can get, I suggest end the game with an epic bang and change genres or go to one shots to exercise each others creativity. I'm currently in a Pathfinder group that the DM has allowed to many players into the game which gives a lot of down time in turns. So what we did to fix it, is we split the group in half and played a few Fiasco games (if you don't know of Fiasco I highly suggest checking it out). This game created a new passion in RP'ing and we are now talking about picking up where we left off from in Pathfinder!

Just a suggestion!
Again, it is absolutely critical to end all games with an EPIC BANG!!!
we done want gamers to lose interest in our hobby.

rolled 1d20 and got 2

Sometimes things just don't work out. You can get bored of the plot, you might not enjoy RPing with who you are with, real-life commitment might come up or you might just lose inspiration entirely. It isn't bad if this happens. Occasionally disappointing? Sure. But you can't force someone to like something anymore than you can tether someone to a table and make them finish an RPG. I'd rather someone leave after saying 'Hey, sorry, lost interest' than carry on playing and hate it.
I don't like either of those options. They're both too cut-and-dried for my taste. What I prefer is talking things out if a story isn't going very well, for whatever reason. Just--talk it out. Try to find the cause of it, and if it can be fixed. Maybe it can be, maybe it can't, but there's nothing to lose by at least talking. If nothing else, in future stories with other people, similar things might be avoided.

Just popping away with a "CHEERY BYE BORED NOW LAWL" grinds my gears. If it isn't working, that's fine. Just talk about it. Out of the handful of reason I'll pass over someone for a story, seeing something like "Will just pop away if it isn't doing anything for me" is near the top of the list.
