Ghosts, supernatural, fantasy, d&D, vampires, horror and more oh my!
Okay, so I have a few characters who need fleshing out.
Which means I need some rp partners! 1X1 or group, I don't really mind on that front and am happy to create a topic for anyone interested.
So what am I looking for?
Well I have a few.
Ghost Story:
Your character has just moved into a new home in a small Welsh town, it's a fixerupper and will need a lot of work but it was a bargain price because the locals claim the place is haunted.
(you could be the adult owner or their teen child, either works)
The background you do know is that the house has stood empty for the past 5 years and there's a known damp and draft problem no contractor can find a cause for. Of course, you don't believe in ghosts right? (or maybe you do and that's why you're here)
This will be a sort of mystery story involving discovering the unfinished business but also of course, interaction with ghosts! horah!
This DOES have a backstory, but it's one that takes a sort of background role to the interaction. You're trying to find stuff out and hopefully (fingers crossed HOPEFULLY) it'll be worth the digging to discover the story (I'm a bit nervous about this one because i've never done anything quite so fully developed and I don't want it to play out like a walking sim or something. I want the other player's actions to matter and their interest to be peaked. If you like tragic stories of super angst and don't mind a bit of casual bigotry from the bad guys... so yes, putting a warning on this, it has lgbt themes, suicide mention and violence, it IS a ghost story after all, that means someone's dead.
Fantasy:
Okay this one is going to be very D&D based but without dice. The character I want to flesh out is a half orc druid named Olamir. He's looking for his father.
I don't really have a plot beyond that very loose premise, I want interaction and character development so i'm open to just about anything you wanna throw at him. Will do romance, will do drama, will do angst and awfulness. I'm mean to my characters so yeah... Just keep things PG and let's have some dungeons and dragons fun!
Vampire:
I LOVE vampires, modern setting especially.
I'm looking for a chance to flesh out a couple of characters and just have a bit of fun with creatures of the night. Group or 1x1, if you've got a plot you want to test out or a character you also want to develop a bit, this could be perfect. I have no stipulations on gender or vampire/human/werewolf of any other supernatural, I tend to quite like a universe with a low background level of magic so it's all good. Subtle magic in an otherwise modern world just like ours.
Yes I will do romance in this, but several of my vampires are ace so be aware of that and do be sure to tell me what level you like because a few of my guys really really don't DO romantic relationships, let alone anything else. (they're annoying like that) So make sure I know what the expectation is so I can pick a character who'll be receptive and/or interesting to engage with on that front.
As for style, I like decent replies but i'd prefer quality over quantity. I don't need to know what the barwench in the background is doing, i'm interested in the characters in the scene.
Sometimes the most profound response is a single word, so don't fret about a word count.
I'm online most days but I don't mind waiting for posts. I have a long term rp going on atm where we reply once every 2 or 3 WEEKS so yes, I can wait lol.
I'm pretty easy going, if your character is interesting or at least fun to interact with, I don't much mind how "literate" you are so long as I can understand what you're writing.
I tend toward more pg13 themes BUT if I know a player is younger I will tone stuff down. My general rule is "nothing I wouldn't say in front of my own kids". I tend more toward subtle implication anyway and certainly well within the rules of this place. If you want something more mature, let me know and we can take it private. I'm terrible at writing smut though, seriously SO awkward so i'd prefer fades to black regardless of maturity level just to save my embarrassment at my terrible writing haha.
I'm a pretty "wing it" sort of rper, if I can work a small plot arc into something I will but I honestly absolutely love interaction above all else and am quite happy to have no direction or a really really vague one and let the characters drive the story on as they develop. I seldom have a totally solid "things must go in THIS precise order" sort of plan, things are always up in the air and subject to change as the story drives forward. I like it when the other player is just as easy going about it all and yep, quite happy to do "hey this would be fun, let's make this happen" sort of situations for the entertainment. If there's a scene you think would be interesting to play out, mention it and we can make it happen.

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.
Modern
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.

Wierdly my name stems from the days of AOL chatrooms. They had a random name generator and "flying monkfish" was what they gave me. I added purple because it was funny and I like purple, and so became, flying purple monkfish. A name nobody ever forgets because it's bizarre.
