Hoggens grabbed the frog and picked it up. He then just as soon let it go.
"Were you examining it?"
Hoggens nodded.”Yeah am I not allowed to do so?” He said looking at Hector.
"Do you think, that a tiny ass frog, can carry weapons, it's just made out of green colored vapor"
Hoggens nodded.”I know I was just looking at it. I’m trying to find something to get this day out of my mind.” He said.
Althea remained quiet as Hoggens and Hector spoke, watching the little frog hop around on the table in front of them.
Hoggens sighed and set his head down.
Althea looked over at Hoggens, “Hey, we know Riba was your best friend but we knew her too, and we all know she wouldn’t want you to be moping around like this. She’d want you to be celebrating the fact that Mortimar is gone, even if it was at the cost of her own life.”
"I think I got something for that" He took a pinch of his sand and sprinkled it on the counter. Riny acrobats, clowns, and performers sprouted up. They did their thing, trying to cheer Mathew up.
Hoggens watched the performers and rolled his eyes.”Hector I’m a grown man not some little kid experiencing his first circus. Also your probably right Althea.” He said.
Althea smiled brightly, “Of course I’m right.” She playfully stuck out her tongue at Hoggens.
Hoggens chuckled and stuck his tongue out at her as well.
"Not a child" Hector scoffed
“Hush up. She started it.” He said pointing at Althea.
"Rrriiight" Hector rolled his eyes smugly.
Hoggens shook his head.”She did.” He said crossing his arms. The waitress then came back with their drinks.
Hector got a Manhattan.
Hoggens sighed. He chugged on his drink and finished his glass.
Althea drank about half her drink and shook her head, “Faerie wine is much better then human alcohol.”
Hoggens shrugged.”Well you’re not used to human things yet.” He said.
