Cyrene sat in a high backed chair, next to her handler. Only government sanctioned heroes were allowed in, but the woman behind Impulse still felt nervous. Everyone knew she was looking to make a new team after the death of her partner. Very few people knew he had also been her husband too.
She spread her fingers across the desk, "Dave? You know that some of these applicants are new to the scene?"
Cyrene didn't wait for the answer, pulling up a mirror to make sure her bright blue mask was in place. The rest of her red costume hugged her without giving up too much. She wore gloves to keep her finger prints off of anything that might hold them. Her boots were sensible and kept her ankle from rolling too much. Her black curls were pulled back from her face and she wore red lipstick.
She tapped her toe, to look for the first applicant.
