I love the chat feature, but my dashboard is getting spammed by notifications for a couple of chat topics. I'm quite bothered by it because it's either unfriending the people who post frequently in those topics, not getting topic notifications whatsoever on my dashboard anymore or being annoyed by the clutter.
I was thinking, you could label a topic as a 'chat' topic and ignore chat topics, or you can ignore certain topics individually?

I'm not sure how fast I could turn this around, but more dynamic controls are definitely in order for notifications as they get bigger and badder.
