Augustus Terminus (played by HvyArtillery)

Ten years ago, the galaxy was divided between two superpowers, the Imperial Gerunda Hegemony and the Galactic Alliance. Both superpowers fought each other in a massive interstellar war caused by the conflicting principles of the Hegemony's imperialism and the Alliance's pacifism. The war eventually destabilized both power economies, especially for the Hegemony. The Alliance made large gains on the battlefield put continued to suffer heavy losses. After years of bloody fighting, the Hegemony's economy completely collapsed and the government went bankrupt. The few remaining Hegemony officials then decided to fire a prototype blackhole weapon at the Alliance's capital system. The resulting power vacuum led to the collapse of the Allaince as it's member species fought over how to remake the government. As this happened, sessionists, tyranical generals, and refegees split apart to form their own independant states. 10 years later, these states are locked into seemingly internal conflict. New states rise up seemingly every month and the older states often fall apart due to economic and politcal stresses. Nothing of the old superpowers remain, scientific progress has grinded to a halt, peoples return to ways that use to be considered barbaric but now are the norm, and the tech and ships that are left have began to fall apart due to age. The newest dark age has begun...

Augustus Terminus sat at a table in an orbital bar, watching live footage of a riot happening on the planetary surface. He wore a black leather jacket with some olive cargo pants. He had bags under his eyes, a look of someone who hadn't seen a peaceful second for a very long time, and was unshaven. Augustus hardly looked the part of a captain of a starship. He took a sip of his drink and check the time to see when he would have to get back to his ship, the Virginia. It had been his father's ship, a former Alliance Cordoba-class frigate, crew by family, friends, and anyone who decided to stay. It wasn't the biggest ship, just a little larger than your standard destroyer, and most of the weapons were useless except for the phaser arrays and a single topedo tube. It's hull used to be a pristine white with blue highlights, but years of accumulated space debris and sporadic matinance gave a more dirty gray look. He turned his gaze to the twinkling starfield visible out of the large glass viewport and took a thoughtful sip of his drink.

(((Ok guys, what do you think? Anyways, I want to set a few rules about your character's ship here, okay? Basically, alll ships will be either a former Alliance/Hegemony/Other or if it was built after the collapse it would be cobbled together out of different parts and such. Also, I want to add that bigger ship(Carriers, battleship, luxary liners, etc.) should be less commom due to the fact that they are harder to crew and often require parts that aren't able to be built anymore. Also, your character doesn't necessarily HAVE to be human. As a matter of fact, I would like to see aliens to add diversity to the rp. You can also come up with a faction or by neutral like yours truly. Have fun!)))
Derik scurried throughout the vast ship relaying supplies between crew members. Recently he had been accepted into the crew of the Recon ship Iron Storm after his application was sent through. When he was officially aboard his new ship he was treated like a pack mule. His only two goals on the ship were to carry supplies, and defend the ship. As he was hurrying toward his next destination he stumbled over a loose pipe and fell, his supplies scattering all over the rough metal floor. He mumbled under his breath as he gathered the scattered supplies and stood up. After strolling carefully to a built-in steel table and settled the supplies onto it. He sighed before he started walking toward the stairs to the upper deck.

"What might you be doin', mule?" A sergeant rounded a corner questioning him with a perked up eye brow.

"It's my break." Derik gulped replying to the man before him. He was always afraid of the higher ranking officers, even though he could swipe them off the feet with a few swift moves.

"Say sir! You say sir to a higher officer!" The sergeant barked rabidly at Derik as he cringed away. The sergeant ended the sentence with a cold glare. The sergeant gestured at the pile of supplies on the table. "If you have a task yo complete, you complete it before you head to the lounge! Even if it is your break!" The last few words ended in a low growl. This sergeant was obviously trying to intimidate Derik. It worked.

"Yes sir." Derik spoke quietly. He gathered an armful of supplies and made his way to the other side of the room. He quickly slid behind a corner and peeked over it. He waited until the higher ranking officer was gone then he set the supplies back on the table. Derik patted down, and brushed off his bland gray uniform with the golden insignia. He sighed and quickly made his way to the top deck. His ship was docked at an orbital bar for an energy resupply. The flag that was flying high was the flag that belonged to the Celestrian Empire. As Derik walked over the refined Arvian wood gangplank to the orbital bar for some relaxation time.

He made his way up to the actual bar area he saw a stool occupied by a man. Derik strolled over to the stool next to the man and sat down. "Bartender! Two Jaran ales for this man and me here." He flipped four coins at the bartender and smiled. "So fellow, where do you hail?"

Augustus regarded Derik with a slightly suspicious look before replying.

"New Rome, Atar system." He grunted while reaching for the ale.

He surveyed the newcomer with some interest. He noted the uniform and let out a snort. He would never let some government control him or his ship. Terminus reached inside of his jacket and pulled out a packet of smokeless cigarettes. He activated one and held the packet out. "Want one?"

The bug like alien approached a similar one, only a size difference kept the two identifiable. The larger one initiated conversation with a series of clicks and sounds, and they conversed for a few minutes, before hugging and going on their way. Before they left, the larger one handed a deed, keys, and other papers to the smaller one. As the smaller one walked away, it changed into a human, young and fit. Buggers were always easy to fool, especially for a face-dancer. He walked into the bar, sitting down. He put his mask and goggles into his bag, pulling down his hood as he sat down. They wouldn't find the body for weeks.
