A vessel the size of a city lies adrift in deep space, many thousands of years of travel beyond explored territory. Left abandoned for centuries on an automated flight path, the ship continues onward as it resumes its mysterious mission. Who built it? What is its goal? Perhaps finding this out will help a pair of misplaced travellers find their way home.

Awakening from an indeterminate-length slumber in cryogenic stasis, two individuals find themselves stranded aboard the craft with no knowledge of how they got there. Displaced lightyears away from their homes, their only option for working out a way back is to continue forward. Then again... perhaps this alien vessel harbours secrets worth sticking around for...

Surrounded by ruined corridors, insane service robots and hostile scavengers, many dangers await the strangers. And that's just what's inside the ship...

So this idea is influenced by Stargate Universe and Red Dwarf... with maybe a bit of System Shock 2 and Battlestar Galactica thrown in. I plan to use my character Kiro (in his primary form), without any magical ability (as magic won't be present in the RP). The format will be 1x1 and atm I'm only seeking one partner, but if I get multiple replies that interest me I may extend that to two or three. Alien species are permissible (and encouraged). Given the nature of the setting, there will be both plot elements and periods of downtime for interaction and character development. If you don't enjoy any one of those two things, this RP may not be for you. No romance, please. If you pick a character in Kiro's age range and they develop a crush, that's fine. But I'm not comfortable with anything beyond that.

Other things that may help the RP last:

- I'd prefer RPers who write in paragraphs. Obviously, if the situation requires it, shorter replies are permissible, but I'd rather them be the exception rather than the rule.

- Whilst I'm not going to put a player age preference out there, I would like to stress that I'd prefer an RPer with a mature writing style. In other words: full sentences, at least partially-realistic character personalities and an absence of overpoweredness.

- Be sure to check out Kiro's profile before replying. Making sure that the characters either gel or clash will make the RP more likely to last. If the characters don't have any chemistry - good or bad - between them, this RP will probably not work. So don't just throw your character in before checking first. A character who might gel with Kiro may have an interest in computers, a determination to do good and a keen sense of adventure. A character who might clash with Kiro may be slobbish, selfish and enjoy practical jokes. A character who would have no chemistry with Kiro might be awkward around kids, uninterested in forming friendships and have little to no sense of curiosity; and such a character would therefore be unsuited to what I have in mind.

If you like this idea but don't have a character who would work with Kiro, feel free to check out my other characters and request one of them instead. I'm open to trying this with Riik or Deril if you'd prefer.

This sounds like an interesting premise... Would you mind if I used Rick? Without his pokemon, of course, since this is a Sci-Fi setting. And around age 16, since he wasn't as level-headed then.

He's certainly a curious individual, up for exploring some strange craft if he woke up on it. And if practical jokes aren't Kiro's thing, there would be periods of time where they butt heads, which could be interesting.

This sounds interesting. I have a human character, or I could modify one of my others to be an alien if you want. ((A couple of them are aliens, if you watch DBZ you'll understand.))

Pick any of my characters. They'd work for this setting

I'm already involved in a (unrelated) group RP atm, and right now I'm simply looking for private RPs to play along side. That being said, I'll keep in mind the interest, and maybe in the future if the group RP I'm part of dies out and this idea still seems attractive by then, I'll put out a group version of this scenario.
