Suppose the best place to start is from the beginning:
I started roleplaying nearly 19 years ago - give or take. Started out on Furcadia* and Neopets, worked my way over to Gaia, and eventually joined up with an online forum where I spent a couple years before the owner went MIA. I ended up gathering up the active members and started up my own forum - which I ran for about 13 years. During the last three years of my forum's decline and demise I continued to admin but eventually withdrew from roleplaying altogether - in part due to my personal life growing overwhelming with responsibilities and also due to the slow disappearance of longtime friends and associates from the scene. (The community failed due to my shortcomings as leadership and due to the shortcomings of site members in various areas - closing a schism between senior members of a small community and the new-comers proved more difficult than I had anticipated but experience grants knowledge and knowledge provides wisdom.)
*Furcadia - I stumbled across the "game" during its formative years. It was interesting but I found other outlets better suited to my tastes and interests.
My limited contribution to roleplaying via any means online became a full hiatus for roughly four years - though over the course of the last nine I have been regularly participating in pen and paper games - that ended about two years ago and found me returning to Furcadia due to my lack of familiarity with other places and the shift in dynamics of most of my old haunts. I hate to say it but part of why I haven't attempted to join a forum since coming back has been the sense of elitism that (to me) seems pervasive in so many venues now; the restrictive nature regarding themes and settings also lacks in appeal as much as the requirement on so many otherwise nice looking communities to have you put in character applications so they can decide if you're allowed to play a character or not. That aside, I initially didn't intend to post or "join" the community here (I have a hard time initiating conversation after being out of the game for so long) but after some conversations with friends of mine and looking the site over I figured I should at least say hello. I would also like to offer up my thanks for the creations of such a wonderfully executed site and (from what I can see just wandering around) the welcoming atmosphere that's been maintained. Kudos. I admire the dedication.

All that said:
- I lack in many aspects of RP. I like to think that I have a decent grasp of writing but I know my style (as much as it can often fluctuate) is not for everyone and I'm no Picasso in some very specific areas - combat, for example, has always eluded me in execution even though I grasp mechanics.
- I am not perfect in grammar, spelling, and punctuation but I do promise to do my best.
- I primarily stick to fantasy and slice-of-life but overall am willing to give just about anything a shot.
- There are not enough character slots and I lack funds to get the ones needed to fully list my cast. I have many on F-List in addition to my roster still posted up on my old forum if you're interested.
- I'm very open to communication - both regarding RP specifics as well as general banter between players.
- I'm perfectly fine answering all sorts of questions (even personal ones) but I'm also not afraid to decline if something makes me uncomfortable - communication is a wonderful thing and I thrive on it.
- There are very few themes that unsettle me. I've done a lot over the years. I've seen a lot over the years. Try me. Worst that's going to happen is I ask we not discuss it further and tell you it's not doable for me.
