sun sat high in the sky giving little light of the day behind the heavy clouds that often fell around the country of Ash. Corruption was running rapid through the village the royal family went about their usual duties, the King sitting on his throne dealing with country matters, seeing to the new hired attendants. The guards practicing in the court yard. The royal suns terrorizing servants an going about their lessons.


Carmen sat quietly on the bay window sill in the hallway, book in hand her head resting against the stained glass. The day light illuminating her pale complexion, her blue eyes gazing into the contents of her litterateur. Hearing the cart wheels as a maid approached her with a small tray of tea to server her the woman clearly shaken. Carmen looked up and smiled softly figuring one of her brothers must have given the lady a hard time. She gently closed her book placing it to the side accepting the cup of tea. "Thank you Martha" she chimed to the maid politely before taking a sip. She sighed eyeing the day outside "Weather out here is always so dreary". The young girl never did fit in with her father and brothers, most of it due to her being more raised by the late week before illness lead to her passing.

*she stood at the window looking outside at the kingdom*
¨I want to leave this corrupt kingdom..but how?¨
*she thought of ways she could leave but everything was heavily guarded*

Prince Calvin paced nervously around his lavish room, as his boots clomped about the polished floor that was his domain. The small rays of a concealed, glowing sun that peeked through his red velvet curtains shined on a mahogany table that one of the maids had recently dusted off, as the young prince continued his notion of pacing.

A few, semi-confident taps of his large door caught his attention, as Calvin gruffly opened the door to an older, male servant that held a delicate platter of his perfectly portioned breakfast from one of the chefs. The prince only narrowed his eyes in response to the flaring shimmer of the servant's gaze, who stood before him, proud and tall.

"Your meal, Prince Calvin," came the loud, docile voice from the tall servant, as he motioned his hand with the meal to Calvin.

The prince roughly grabbed the platter, and sniffed at the delicious aroma which emitted from his plate. Calvin gave a cold stare at the servant, before clearing his throat. "Thank you," came the mustered words of the prince's regal tongue. "You may be dismissed." The prince turned his back against the servant, as Calvin stared at the lush curtains that draped upon his windows. "But, before you depart," the prince added, as Calvin heard the quiet footsteps halt abruptly, "I'll want you to notify my guard to arrive here as soon as possible."

The prince settled his platter upon the bedsheets that adorned Calvin's relaxing mattress, as he approached the servant. His gaze aligned with the servant's in a fierce acknowledgement. "Understood?" Calvin questioned through gritted teeth.

The servant gave a mere nod in response, as Calvin's eyes flamed with power.

"Speak."

The servant reluctantly gave his obedience, as he spoke in a sharpened tone. "I understand, Prince Calvin," said the servant.

Calvin gave a rather pleased nod. "Excellent," he muttered. "Now, go!" He pointed his finger alarmingly off toward the wide corridors of the castle. "Before I decide to snap again," Calvin warned.

The servant, with the message crossing his mind, departed from the prince's room, as Calvin shut his door closed. The loud slam gave a slight echo, as the prince heaved a frustrated sigh, and resumed his previous notion of pacing.

*she would run outside still looking for escape routes* ¨god...Why are people not trying to escape!¨ *she murmured to herself as she briskly walked around the kingdom saying hello to close friends*

¨Just have to find a weak point in the defence...¨ *looking around keeping her tail and ears hidden from sight* ¨don´t get too excited jinx...gotta keep your species a secret...

*she returned home after a long day of examination and thoughts* ¨Nothing yet¨ *she cooked dinner for herself and waited till night to go searching again*

Carmen finished her tea setting everything neatly back on the cart wheeling it herself back toward the kitchen. She dusted the bottom of her gown it’s gentle yellow silk complimenting her features. She pushed a curl back over her shoulder looking through the halls. She sighed at the emptiness her heels clicking as she stepped through the halls. She looked up at a portrait of her mother as she passed. Her eyes almost saddened as She brought herself to a stop.

“Things might not have gotten this bad if you were still here”

She mumbled softly under her breath before realizing the time recalling she was to be present when the attendants arrived. Clasping her pale hands over her lap as she walked thinking on it, why did she need an attendant she did excellent with her history studies, and rarely left the palace. Extending her hand trailing a finger along the wall as she turned the corner into the throne room. Her feet slowed at the thought of having to be around her father, he was always more stern around her.

Another hour of break...

Johanna had just returned to her small home from a long day of exhausting work. The young woman was feeling rather dazed, as Johanna collapsed on a woven chair.

The woman took off her iron helmet, as Johanna felt her locks of hair drape on her face.

"Misha, Misha! Mommy's here again, Misha!"

The guard glanced over to see a young girl, with long, black hair looking excitedly at her. Johanna gave a small grin, as the guard placed her helmet on the dusty table. "Oh, come here, Era," Johanna whispered, as the woman extended her arms toward the young girl, Era.

The little girl giggled in delight, as Johanna felt the immediate collapse of her daughter on her lap. The guard twirled some locks of Era's hair in her hands, as Johanna chuckled. "Era, you are such a silly child," the woman remarked, as Era attempted to try on Johanna's helmet. Johanna lifted the helmet off her daughter's head, as black locks fluttered gently to her body.

"Ma, I wanna try it!"

Johanna glanced over to see a caramel haired boy standing behind the table her helmet had sat upon. His eyes were lit with excitement and joy, as Johanna shook her head. "Misha," Johanna said to the young boy. "You're too young. Besides, it's too large on you."

The boy, Misha, frowned. "But, Ma!" he complained. "I'm older that Era! I'm responsible!"

Johanna gave a small grin. "Now, now, you don't have to say that, Misha," the guard said. "I don't want you two bickering about senseless things." She'd adorn the helmet on her head, concealing her locks of hair. "Now, I'll have to go," Johanna informed. "Please, behave you two. Your father will arrive later."

"Yes, Mommy."

"Yes, Ma."

Johanna gave a grin, as the guard exited her small home, and began to travel back to the castle.

*she thought* maybe I can sneak into the palace and kill the king and possibly save this corrupted kingdom *she sneaked into the darkness* ¨lets do this...¨ * she silently made her way to the castle doors* ¨wait for a gaurd to come out and sneak in...

*She ran in as a guard left and navigated through the halls silently looking for the throne room* ¨...¨ *she walked and went into a room (which was prince Calvin´s) to rest and calm down* ¨ph--...¨ *noticing her mistake she panicked*

Faize gets up from his own 'room' and walks to Carmen's room to teach her for the first time, due to his recent arrival the guards eye him suspiciously. He passes Calvin's room as he makes his way.

Calvin had eventually went off the stare through his window, as the prince could see the gray clouds that loomed over the kingdom. His dull gaze aligned with the clouds, as he waited.

After a few hours, Calvin had placed his sword safely away for a while. He finally managed to have a "chat" with his guard, and had seen them depart from his domain. However, the prince wasn't exactly in the best of moods, but he was also in his most vulnerable state.

So, when he heard the door creek open, Calvin expected that it was a defiant servant, or perhaps an observing guard that entered his room.

Instead, it was a figure in which he had never seen before.

Calvin gave a huff, as without hesitation or thinking, he'd attempt to get to his sword's containment.

*she panicked more* I-I´m sorry! I came into the wrong room I-I´ll be leaving! sorry for the disturbance! *she quickly attempted to leave the room*

Carmen dragged her feet growing more nervous about it all she glanced around seeing she hadn’t been spotted. Taking the opportunity to turn on her heels she lifted the skirt of her gown running back toward her room. Her shoes echoed her footsteps through the halls. She slipped in through a secret door her back against her bedroom wall sighing with relief. Her room was beautifully done in decorative silks of vibrant colours, many arrangements of flowers particularly roses. Shelves of books lining one of her walls. She was far from a family favourite but she was the only daughter. She stepped out in her room pulling a single rose from her vase holding it close to her face taking in its fragrance. She smiled half hearten at the bouquets “shame these are the only flowers to be found here”

"I-I'm sorry! I came into the wrong room; I-I'll be leaving! Sorry for the disturbance!"

Calvin gritted his teeth as he saw the figure frantically try to escape his room. The prince, not letting this happen, halted from his motion of reaching his sword, and began to sprint toward the figure. His eyes gave a flare, as Prince Calvin lunged toward the silhouette, in hopes of getting a grip onto the figure.

You're not getting away just yet.. thought the prince, as he continued to plummet through the air.

*she quickly moved accidentally moving to fast and her tail showed and her panicked even more trying to hide her tail again while trying to escape the room*

Calvin crashed into the ground, as the prince slowly arose from the ground. His side ached slightly, as his raven black hair was all ruffled up. The prince looked toward the figure's direction as it spoke.

"...I'm looking for Princess Carmen!"

The prince froze for a moment, as Calvin took notice of a familiar tail on the figure. The boy gave a shocked stare at the silhouette, as his side continued to ache more.

This must be Father's chosen trainer for Carmen, he thought. Calvin shook his head toward the figure and gave a tired sigh. "Apologies," he murmured, oblivious to the figure's words. "I did not realize you were a trainer for my sister.."

¨I-Its no problem!¨ *she quickly left and kept running hoping the prince wouldn't come with her still looking for a place to rest she walked into a empty room and sat down* phew...he actually believed that...hey at least i´m safe now...¨ *she released her ears and tail and brushed them*

Carmen fixed her vase of roses pacing around her room quietly her gaze on the floor. She stepped over to her bookshelf looking over the titles and volumes. She had read most of them of course but her days often were spent like this. Baraced in the palace left to her own mind to occupy, out of the many children she was often forbidden to step outside let alone leave the palace grounds. Settling for her croqhet she picked up the small satin fabric and frame settleing in her window sill stitching away her eyes watched the outside world carefully.

“Swear centuries will pass and my skeleton will be found with a needle frozen to my fingertips”

Faize knocks on Carmen's door."Princess, you in there?"

Carmen looked up from her stitching and glanced at her door hearing the knock followed by the call of her name, must have been one of her fathers new sell swords. She sighed softly looking back down as she continued to stitch her blue eyes focused.

“You may entrer”

She chimed out in a voice loud enough to be herd but still retain her gentle nature. She sat across the room still in her window sill as the light shined through the stained glass illuminating her golden hair.
