I would absolutely love to get into a little Lovecraftian mischief with one or more like-minded individuals. A 1x1 would be great, but a group would be even better.
If you need help fighting some otherwordly horrors, might I recommend Miss Amelia or Miss Ophelia to assist?

1. A group of strangers are on a bus when it breaks down in Innsmouth. There's some shady folks about, and it's starting to get dark...
2. A second research group from Miskatonic University heads to Antarctica to seek the remains of the ill-fated Dyer expedition.
3. A well-known Boston physician is found eviscerated in his home, and a mysterious tunnel is discovered in the cellar leading...somewhere...
4. The Queen of the Manhattan social scene, Ophelia Waite, is beginning to act rather oddly. A concerned citizen is determined to investigate, but at what cost? (Best as a 1x1, but possibly doable with a group)
...And many more! Pitch me a story, I'm definitely flexible.
Just a few notes
-Original time period (20s/30s) is slightly preferred, but I'd be willing to try a modern setting with the right plot. I'm also willing to go backwards (steampunk, colonial era, maybe even ye olde Medieval Cthulu?)
-I'm a big girl, and sex/violence/language doesn't offend me, but let's keep it classy and to the point, hm?
-No need to stay 100% true to source material. They're really more like guidelines.
With that, let's throw this fishhook into the ocean and pray to avoid the Deep Ones!

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.
Industrial revolution
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred.
I would be super interested in RP'ing with you as Eli! If any other character interests you let me know, but I believe Eli would fit the bill for this general genre quite nicely! The first topic definitely caught my fancy immediately, but I would be more than happy to be involved in any of them!
Oh yes, he absolutely would! And personally the first scenario is the one I want to do most. If there's some additional interest I would prefer to do it with a group (even just a small one), but if no one else is game I think it could be done as a 1x1.
If you want more characters involved we could always include one or two extra aside from the characters we're directly replying with! But I totally understand the group dynamic of separate roleplayers, so just let me know when you're ready to go!

My preference stands as the same! The first plot seems most interesting to me!
All of the prompts sound good to me. I'm only just breaking into the Cthulu mythos, so I will follow your lead. Prompts 1 and 3 seem to have the most to offer for 1x1x1, so I do lean a that direction.
I'm actually running Number 3 as a 1x1 right now, so I'd agree on going with scenario 1.

It might be easier to find the OOC chat in a group PM. As far as the actual IC thread goes, I can work with whatever y'all decide. If it is supposed to be Lovecraftian, though, then perhaps a group or pm RP would be better to allow for more freedom in the way of creepiness, violence, or whatever else may pop up.
I forgot to reply to the latter part. I don't mind group RPs, but I've seldom had good experiences with Open RPs. It's killed most RPs that I've been in that were dedicated Open, since so many new people means a high chance of people who either have a different idea of what to do with the RP or post a couple times then disappear.
((I will gladly play the eldritch abominations, if you like! If not, I've got technician Reo, or his little brother Sora, who's just as smart, but more of a little shit.))
You're welcome to do both if you like! Same to everyone else, I've got no problem with people doubling up on characters, as long as you keep it under control.
