Also = Too

More than desireable = Too

2 (the number) = Two

Any other meaning = To

"Too" with two "O's" is only ever used to mean the following:

1. "also"

Ex. "I want to be a roleplayer, too."

2. "excessively, more than desireable,"

Ex. "You have too much energy today! Relax!"

Ex. "I had too many appointments yesterday. I couldn't do anything fun."

"Two" is only used to mean the number "2."

Ex. "I have two reasons."

Ex. "I had two shoes but one disappeared."


"To" is the word used in every other case you need to use one of these three words.

Ex. "I'm going to the store." "I want to make a movie."

So before writing to, too, or two, simply ask yourself:

1. "Do I mean 'also'?" If so, write "too."

2. "Do I mean 'excessively'?" If so, write "too."

3. "Do I mean the number 2?" If so, write "two."

4. "Did I answer 'no' to the last three questions?" If so, write "to."

Then you'll be guaranteed to use the correct one.

"Your" is only used to show possession (whose something or some quality belongs to).

Ex. "Your backpack," "your loyalty," "your sword."

The word "your" is never used in place of the words "you are." If you can say the sentence in your mind and use the words "you are," and the sentence still makes sense, then the correct word to use is "you're" not "your."

In other words...

* Your = belonging to you
* You're = you are


Ex. "You're a roleplayer"

See how you can say "you are a roleplayer and it still makes sense?

Ex. Your computer is pink.

See how cannot say "you are computer is pink" and have it still make sense? That's how you know it's not "you're." It's the other one. "Your."
