Zyxarekti (played by Riik)

A collection of similar ideas based around the character Zyxarekti

READ FIRST:

Players aged 16+ are preferred. If you're a year or so younger than that and feel you're more mature than average, we can discuss things, but there will be extra limits set on RP to keep everyone comfortable regarding the age gap.

This is a multi-paragraph RP. If you feel you can't maintain a pace of about 2 paragraphs average per post, this might not be for you. Also, expect long posts from me early on - don't feel obligated to keep up with them and don't expect them to persist throughout; it'd be mostly due to me setting the scene.

Reminders. If we agree to RP and start discussing the scenario in detail and I don't hear back from you for a week, I will drop a reminder. If I send you a starter post (or reply to your starter) and you don't reply back for 3 days, I will drop a reminder. In each case, I will only remind once, as I don't want to be a bother. (NOTE: This is not guaranteed. It depends on my RP load as well as other things.)

Not the Familiar You Expected (click to show)
gkENgtJ.png

(Magic: 70%-80% / Tech: 30% - 40% / Combat: 30% - 60%)

Familiar summoning spells always have an element of chance. The creature that comes through often defies one's expectations and wishes if so much as a light breeze falls upon the summoning ritual. Most often, the summoner ends up with a familiar based on their long-term needs, personality or karma. Occasionally, however, a wizard might end up with something so unfortunate, they will wish they never cast the spell in the first place...

Lucky wizards are blessed with obedient, mild-mannered familiars. Luckier still are those who bring forth exotic beasts such as faerie dragons. Even most imps end up at least being more of a help than a hindrance. Zyxarekti might be on the cuter side of the imp spectrum. He might be equipped with combat capabilities beyond most assistance-orientated familiars. But as your character might soon learn, this fire-breathing pointy-toothed demon is the worst possible outcome to a familiar summoning spell. Unfortunately, once you cast the spell, this is the familiar your are stuck with. Can your character tame this impossible horror? Or at least calm its mischief to a more manageable level? Or are they cursed to forever live in total torment?

Looking for someone with a wizard, sorcerer, warlock, summoner or any other kind of mage who might try out a familiar summoning spell in order to test out this new character of mine. Be warned: Zyxa is destructive and has boundless energy. So be prepared for a lot of that. He might eventually form a loyalty and even a bond with his summoner; but whether said mage might grow to appreciate his presence is another thing entirely...

Alternative Plots

The cursed ring (20%-80% magic, 20%-50% technology, 0%-50% combat)

Entering a store of antique peculiarities, your character happens across a very dashing ring with a gothic demonic motif. It looks expensive - yet the price tag is amazingly low. The shopkeeper tells them the ring is harmless. It simply brings back bad memories seeing it and he wants it cleared out of the shop as quickly as possible. They buy it.

They wait until they get home (or to the inn or wherever they happen to be currently staying) to try it on. Slipping it over their finger, they find it fusing to their body, binding itself to their bones. The ring was cursed. The nature of the curse soon becomes clear to them as a destruction-craved imp crashes into being before them and proceeds to make a mess of their current place of residence.

A lonely life (10%-30% magic, 40%-60% technology, 30%-70% combat)

School sucks. Your character barely has any friends. Their home life isn't much better, and they're beginning to get bored of it all. That is when they find it - an adorable black plush bat with a round head, large amber eyes, tall pointed ears, a cartoonish sidways-3 mouth, a pink heart-shaped nose, small red wings and little stubby legs. Your character picks it up. At first it seems lifeless and harmless - a discarded toy. Then it twitches in their hand. A mischievous voice speaks from somewhere within the plush bat. That is when your character realises it is possessed. Even upon this realisation, your character isn't prepared for when they first find a private location to take the toy, and what emerges from its cuddly containment when the coast is clear. Even less so are they prepared for the reason this demonic entity has come to earth...

Counterproductive sidekick (10%-80% magic, 20%-60% technology, 20%-70% combat)

Your character is a demon sent to Earth on an important mission. They have been assigned Zyxarekti as a servant. Unfortunately, as they will soon realise, the little imp's presence is more of a hindrance to their mission than a help...

Demon in exile (10%-20% magic, 40%-60% technology, 10%-60% combat)

Satan is too soft. Or at least, that was the growing consensus down in hell. Demons - beings born from evil and chaos - ruled by a fallen angel who ruled hell as punishment for his past and as a necessity of balance rather than of delight at pain and torture. It was not a sustainable situation. For thousands of years it lasted... but even Satan's power had limits in its intimidating presence. Eventually, enough force gathered for a rebellion...

Demons rebelled against Satan for a multitude of reasons. For Zyxarekti, it was freedom to cause chaos. With the increasing unrest grew more rules and regulation to hold the demons in their place... the rebellion was as much a breaking point for Zyxa as it was for the evil he joined forces with, despite him not sharing in the darker sentiment of his rebellious brethren.

As the civil war of Hell raged, Zyxa proved his place as one of the biggest, most brutal demons on the side of the rebels. But when Satan proved too strong to be beaten... when the rebellion was crushed... Zyxa only served as an example to his brethren. Disfigured - hands and feet reduced to useless claws - and reduced to a child-sized form... grizzled features replaced with imp-like cuteness... Zyxarekti was banished to earth. Where he will soon learn that much of his might and dark charisma is gone.

Your character finds the battered body of an imp lying unconscious in an alley. For whatever reason, they decide to take it home, not knowing of its origins. Little do they realise what chaos is about to be unleashed upon their life...

An ambitious Runt (50%-100% magic, 10%-60% technology, 10%-80% combat)

Zyxa's eyes are often bigger than his claws. More often than not, he bites off more than even his substantial teeth can chew. But in Hell, causing chaos and destruction normally means at the expense of another demon. And that rarely ends well for Zyxa. The imp has resigned himself to one simple fact - he cannot reach his goals of satisfying his desire for wanton mischief without a bigger demon at his side.

Your character - for whatever reason - is in need of a servant, sidekick, bodyguard, friend or similar. When they come across the rather frustrated imp, it seems that they have found what they are lucking for. Whether their goals and Zyxa's align, however... that is another thing entirely. Still, in the short term at least, it seems like staying together is in their best interest.

Monster Under the Bed (20%-40% magic, 30%-60% technology, 0%-40% combat)

Your character has always suspected that a monster lives under their bed. When their favourite stuffed toy gets lost there, they become too frightened to retrieve it. Suddenly, some time during the night, the toy seems to come alive. Possessed by the very monster they sought to avoid...

Reality Unravelling (20%-40% magic, 30%-60% technology, 40%-70% combat)

Your character has stumbled across a place where the supernatural intersects with the natural. A place of demons and horrors and unspeakable things. Flesh tunnels, deformed zombies, giant spider creatures... hidden away behind a flimsy façade. So far, this place has remained untouched and its corruption contained. But your character's very presence seems destined to change that. Only one of the creatures seems even the slightest bit non-hostile. Only slightly sane. Enough to understand that even with its own destructive tendencies it does not want the corruption to spread...

None of these plots of interest, but you have your own idea that you want to put forward? Feel free to ask! If you have your own LfRP forum thread that you think Zyxa would work with, feel free to ask about that as well.

Details: Freeform, paragraphs required, long-term RP partner preferred. Will be played one-on-one.

Been working on adding some alternative plots to make this open to more possibilities. I may add a couple more at a future date.

Bump.

Reduced the prominence of the main idea in the hopes of increasing potential of people checking the alternatives if they don't have a character that fits it.

Added some additional alternative plots.

I've mostly gotten out of the habit of bumping threads in favour of renewing via the RP finder, but with the new site update, I figure there'd be no harm in bumping some of my multi-idea threads so that they show up higher than all the closed threads pre-update.

Soooo bump, I guess.
