The person I was doing this rp with blocked me out of nowhere after my first reply so I was hoping someone could take their place.

Astoria is a large kingdom set on the side of the river, which is useful for powering the city and keeping cattle and such fed. There are four classes of people in Astoria, starting with the Royals. The king and queen live in a palace in the center of the kingdom, they have one son and one daughter (M/C). The next class is Nobles, knights and those close to the Royals. Then Commoners, everyday people. And peasants, whom usually become servants.

Astoria has been at war for almost a year, staving of the advance of Y/C kingdom (up to your discretion what the kingdom is like). Astoria falls, and Y/C father declares death on the king and all male heirs. M/C is kidnapped and locked away while the new king tells Y/C that he will be forced to marry her.

Please message me if interested and we can discuss it more if you want. This is my starter:

Hadley was seated on a small ledge that jutted out from the window into the room. The window itself was locked shut, the materials in her possession unable to break it. Not that it would do her any good, she was on the highest floor, in the same tower her own father had used for prisoners. Now the roles were reversed.

She had counted the times the sun had risen and set, the scratch marks in the floor the only indication of time. To make matters worse, she had learned this morning that by this time tomorrow she was to be married. She thought they were insane if they thought she would comply with changing her clothes, let alone taking a husband. One who was behind the murder of her father and brother and thousands more.

She paced the small space. The only human interaction she’d had in the last two weeks was when someone dropped off food. She grudgingly ate most of the time, knowing she couldn’t survive without. Her hygiene was another story. She had been offered new clothes and showers on multiple occasions but turned everything down, refusing to accept the faux generosity. Because of this, she wore the same dress she had been taken in, once a pristine white with lace, it was now a stained shade of yellow and the lace unraveled, creating threads she had to resist the urge to pull.

Before they had lost the war she was unbothered by politics. Convinced the best offense was a good defense. But they had the best defense, and yet. She recalled back when they had stormed the castle. She hadn’t been expecting such an aggressive attack, no alarms ahead of time to warn of an invasion. She had been with her maidens, on the way to the throne room for a meeting with the rest of the royal court. Soldiers had swarmed her, dragging her viciously. She had flailed her legs panicked and trying to escape to no avail. She could hear the piercing screams of her mother and countless others as she passed by the throne room where she had been headed. The door was thrown wide and she could see her father on his knees, blood soaking through his robes. His crown fell, cracking against the ground before her view was obscured as they continued passed.

Tears trickled down her cheeks, the lump in her throat growing until sobs wracked her small frame. She wondered what would happen to her when she refused the proposal. Would they kill her too? Keep her prisoner here until she agreed? Maybe beat her into submission. She pulled her hair up, wrapping it around itself to solidify it in a bun at the base of her neck.
Interested.
