"You have no idea how the hell you were convinced to go on this mission: at this point it was mere suicide to proceed any further. Suddenly the scent of blood hits your nostrils as you slowly turn around. You grip your weapon with the intent to live, you'll be the one to make it out of here, you'll be the one to continue living. You recall the unfortunate steps you took to put yourself in this situation: it had been only two days, how could it have gone this badly?

A generous sum of funds had been offered to take down what could have only been referred to as some sort of man-beast. "Man-beast"? you've dealt with creatures with descriptions just as vague, and have killed men whom most would never dream of even thinking of. On the notice a location was given to you in bold letters, under it read "Calling as many capable warriors as possible." So you'd be working with multiple people, so what? Even if you were forced to hang around a group, the reward was far worth spending some time with a few strangers. So you set forth; traveling down to the nearby tavern. Inside you find yourself among at least 15 men and woman, all grouped together discussing various topics. What they intend to do with the reward, whose pelt they'll be furnishing over their fireplaces, what could possible threat could warrant this many people etcetera. As you made a place for yourself to rest, a hooded figure clapped their hands together to get the attention of the crowd. Soon the loud discussion inside the tavern slowly dropped to a murmur, and then complete silence.

The hooded figure dug into a purple stained side satchel and pulled out what appeared to be a dragons scale. It was a deep bronze-gold in color, stained in what appeared to be blood. "This is but a scale of the beast that you all will be hunting I'm sure the lot of you aren't familiar with the Draconian species so I will give you a quick run through". The figure tapped the scale with his index figure as it begun to glow and emit several golden particles from it. The scale crackled with small bursts of lightning as a result of it's contact with these "particles". "All Draconians are capable of exerting what we call Seither; a valuable resource worth more to us than the homes and property most nobility owns. Draconians are capable of naturally generating this substance, and one has just been spotted. We need the lot of you to find and kill this beast, it's location was last spotted in the local mountain range - a two day trek by foot. Bring us it's corpse and we'll give you enough funds to buy a small country." The slow murmurs of the crowd grew once again; most of them in excitement for the eventual riches they fully intend on receiving. You personally have never heard of these "Draconians" before. you've never heard of them until now, and they haven't been recorded in any history books. So why are they all of a sudden a target. Thinking about it however doesn't get you your pay, and if what this person is saying is true, you'll be set for life if you manage to kill it. The man had gotten the groups attention once again through a strong smack of the scale, causing a bolt of lighting to strike upon the floor below him. "You all serve as our means of obtaining a permanent supply of Seither, you will go together as a group and come back here as a group. If any of you keep the corpse for yourself you will not be paid. Should you manage to kill each other before getting there you will not be paid. Should the beast kill some of you whilst the others return with the corpse, you will be appropriately compensated with their pay. Any questions?" The room stayed silent, more concerned about what they were fighting and how they intended to kill it. However that silence was soon broken by the hooded figure leaving the tavern, wishing the group of men and woman the best of luck with their hunt.

The large group of adventures, mercenaries and hunters alike gathered their belongings and set off to this mountain range their quarry supposedly was. The large group of people were friendly enough, some of them you could even consider becoming friends with, if not close acquaintances. Other than the occasional scrap between members and the drunken hangovers, you all finally made your way to this mountain range. The path up the mountain seemed clear cut, and the trail of scales leading up to a specific cave entrance was more than enough of a trail to follow. As the sound of thundering clouds made itself known, the battalion decided it would be best to enter the cave now and get this over with. However you along with several of the people you've 'befriended' noticed something - off. The lightning flashes before the thunder; they were gold in color. Each strike didn't appear to be normal lightning. With that thought, a sudden crackof electricity struck the rear guard of the group. Several men and women got caught up in the blast as they bolted around, engulfed in flames or burnt to a crisp their bodies lined the region behind you. Whatever the hell this thing was it knew you were there, and it was out for blood.

The remaining members who were alive bolted inside of the cave, there were about 13 of you remaining. As you bolted inside the cave another flash of golden lighting blocked the entrance; you were caved in. Luckily several of the people still living either had torches or lit the darkened cave with magic. You all huddled together as a group to brave this threat, convinced you could still take whatever had killed the others. As you slowly progressed into the caves depths the low pitched sound of an animals vocal cords rumbling could be heard. As you halted your advance you all kept your weapons up and waited for another attack.

"On our left!"

Suddenly a beam of golden electricity launched towards your battalion, breaking up the huddled formation you had so desperately tried to keep; and in the process pierced the chests of two more people, nicking on in the shoulder. The woman who got shot yelled:

"Show yourself!"

With that a reply was heard: however instead of words a loud guttural roar was her response. The sound of leathery wings could be heard as her screams drifted off deeper into the cave. Suddenly a loud crunch could be heard as her screams were quickly silenced. Then one by one, either by way of this mysterious lighting or being dragged off - each of the men and woman who were a part of your group were dragged off and supposedly killed. With each person dragged off, that same crunch could be heard; crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch... The one's that had been struck by lighting had been no more than crisped corpses, even the ones that had brought electric retardant gear were almost unrecognizable as the lightning cooked their flesh. You had made your way deeper into the caverns during the previous kills. Your weapon holstered to your side and whatever skills you may have had were at your disposal, and you were not going to die here.

With that you took a battle stance, and then a loud swoosh had been heard. Then standing there in front of you was the assailant that had killed the others. It lit the dark region around you with it's natural bioluminescence. It stood on two legs, vaguely resembled a wyvern with it's figure. As it straightened it's posture, it spread it's massive four wings open. They had to be 50" at least. The thing looked like it had eye sockets, but instead of the usual sclera and pupil it's eyes glowed the same golden hue as the rest of it's body. It had what looked to be the leftovers of one of your companions in it's mouth; their neck in it's maw. It dropped the corpse onto the ground in front of it, toying around with the lifeless body with it's fore talons; appearing to check for any sort of life.

Then once for the first time in this entire experience; you heard the first sound in what felt like an eternity in this cave. They didn't seem like words; rather a signal of some sort. Every fiber in your being told you to leave as the signal grew stronger in intensity. "Leave, leave, leave, leave"; these were the only things you could feel. As these signals grew slower in intensity; the animals horns blinked with each received signal. Was this creature attempting to communicate? A theory you had little time to dwell on.

It curled it's tail inward, folding it's massive wings inward and placing them on it's shoulders - almost like a cape. With a loud thud the area around you quickly lit - the ambient light still that strange golden hue. You finally got a clear look at this thing, but what would you do now?"

[OOC Information]

Woah that took awhile to write, hopefully my little prompt managed to catch your attention. If it interests you, PM me and I'll be more than happy to RP with any character you have. So as long as they fit the scenario, it works. I'm hardly picky about characters, with a personal soft spot for strongly build backstories and characters with established homes I'll RP with just about anyone.

When it comes to replies, I am relatively quick to reply, with me being able to reply multiple times a day despite my university responsibilities. Time management has never been a problem for me, moreover I am rather patient when waiting for replies. Just make sure to let me know if you'll be taking a hiatus of something of that nature so that I can accommodate accordingly. Moreover if I don't reply in a reasonable amount of time; harass me. Sending a quick OOC PM my way is the best way to force me back into consistency; and I'll be more than willing to do so. Just sending me a brief reminder or concern is more than enough to get me back into the game.

In terms of reply length, I tend to prefer replies comparable to my own. One-line replies tend to both move plots along too slow, don't develop characters and blah, blah, blah. This is hardly time for a personal thesis on reply length and character development; just know that I prefer paragraphs. Sentence length per paragraph can vary depending on what you intend to get across, just know longer tends to get my attention better than shorter. Not to say that shorter is a bad thing, as short-detailed replies can catch my attention just as much depending on the context.

An OOC PM as well as a IC PM will be the basis for this RP. Moreover just because someone beats you to the first reply doesn't mean I won't RP with you. I can handle 2-3 RP's at a time comfortably, so don't give in just because someone beats you to the punch. Each one will be one on one, even if I'm managing more than one at that point and time.

Now then, if you have any further questions as I mentioned previously, PM me if you show interest. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this exceedingly long post, and I wish you the best of luck with whatever goals you currently have in mind.
