Message From The GM:

I'm looking for Dragon Age role-players/writers! I could really use players willing to play canons in addition to original characters. I recently overhauled a fandom RPG I've made called Heroes of Thedas and I'm looking for literate storytellers to craft sweeping, ongoing narratives with.

World State:

"Officially, the Inquisition has been forced to disband, leaving a power vacuum many would seek to exploit. The task of keeping the peace as well as reforming and rebuilding old institutions associated with the Orlesian Chantry falls to its new divine: Grand Cleric Victoire. Given the name Divine Victoria, she immediately enacted reform: a new Templar Order and a new Circle of Magi. She issued a proclamation denouncing the Inquisition, prompting it to be - at least publicly - dissolved. Initially, Divine Victoria had wanted its members arrested but pressure from the monarchies of both Orlais and Ferelden prompted her to issue its members a formal pardon instead.

Not long after the Exalted Council, the Qunari launched new attacks against Tevinter. Their aggression caught the already unstable Imperium off guard. Tevinter was soon mired in a war many feared could spread across Thedas. Whispers in Val Royeaux suggested that the Qunari had asked Divine Victoria to assist them. None yet know of her answer. Historically, the two Divines—Orlesian and Imperial—had often united against Qunari threats leaving many to wonder what decision Divine Victoria will ultimately come to in the end. Thus far, the Qunari have already conquered the city of Ventus, known in the past as Qarinus, and the Nocen Sea remains the site of ongoing naval battles between the Imperium's fleet and Qunari dreadnoughts. Rumours of the inevitability of an Exalted March have begun to swirl throughout Thedas.

Other nations, like Ferelden, are once again beleaguered with internal conflicts and rebellions.

Even many of Thedas' long-standing factions, like the Grey Wardens, have fallen to disharmony from within its ranks.

Despite the varied states of upheaval within each nation, much of Thedas is still recovering from the Mage-Templar War. Both anti-mage and anti-templar sentiments remain in many parts of the world, to varying degrees, depending on how each populace had been affected by the brutal conflict. Magic-use, in general, has become exceedingly distrusted outside of the Imperium—although many are waiting to see what becomes of the new divine's reforms before making their opinions final. Many mages and templars that left the Circle of Magi or the Templar Order following the war have chosen to keep their prior affiliations with said factions a secret so as to begin life anew."

Forum Details:

Heroes of Thdeas is a play by post roleplaying game set in the Dragon Age universe, with flexibility to role-play within all timelines.

We'll be developing previously underdeveloped canon locations within the game, as the narrative progresses, and allowing players some creative freedom to create new, original locations such as villages, towns, and even small island nations.

Canon characters and original characters are both available for gameplay. Our extensive list of available canon characters includes minor canons who may have been mentioned yet never seen (e.g. Cullen's family members, Josephine's family members, etc.).

The game is primarily freeform, narrative-based with some minor emphasis on skills during the character creation process. We do not use a dice system as this is a RPG for those who enjoy collaborative writing experiences, most of all.

We are a LGBTQ+ friendly community.

Game Rating:

PG-13, as per ProBoards ToS.
