So I'm thinking on starting another Rp! This one involves a group of people getting thrust thousands of years into the future.
Alright, the story takes place on a planet named Arcana, and at the beginning gods are still very active in mortal affairs. They are known as real beings, not myths or legends. Technology is very futuristic, you know, holograms and such. A little into the story, something happens that causes widespread destruction, and a small group is thrown far into the future.
The distant future on Arcana is somewhat primitive, and the gods seem to have disappeared. Villages of people still worship the deities, often adopting one as the patron of their village. The people are very religious, and take any offense to their gods to heart.
Now our small group has to adapt to the new way of life, and hope there is some way home. Oh! and by the way, after being thrust into the future, whatever powers they had will be severely weakened. Characters can be children of the gods, but the gods are not playable characters. We also need characters who already live in the distant future!
Notable/Important deities:
Cynder Shadows(Queen of the Deities): Goddess of Death, Wisdom, and Black Magic(Necromancy, harmful spells, curses, etc.)
Cyn Shadows(Alter Ego of Cynder): Goddess of Chaos, Evil, and Absolute Terror
Lilianna: Goddess of Darkness/The Moon
Moradin: God of Light/The Sun
Keon(King of the Deities): God of Life/Creation/White Magic(Healing, Restoring Life, Blessings, Etc.)
Erebos: God of Technology/Weaponry
Abydos: Goddess of Nature/Balance
Phenax: God of Destruction
The Sport of Spellcasting
Spellcasting is a ‘friendly’ competition between teams of magicians, both male and female. Each team consists of ten players, with only five on the field at a time. To win the game, a team as to claim**, knock over, or destroy all fifteen of the other teams flags*. They can use whatever means necessary as long as it doesn’t severely harm another player. So temporary paralysis and such is allowed as long as it doesn't last more then 2 minuets. Anything past that will count against the team and one of the opposing players’ flags will be restored. The playing field is circular, and one hundred yards across from any point. A magic net is around the field so stray spells don't hurt the audience. The field is split in half, and each team’s flags are spread out across their half. Players cannot cross the halfway mark.
*Flags: Flags are steps of cloth colored to represent whatever team they belong to tied to large cone like structures that are about 100 lbs.
**To claim a flag, the opposing team must somehow move one to their side of the field, where the cloth will magically switch to their color.

Also you might want to divide your deities clearer...for instance make sure people know the difference between life, and nature
Or darkness, and black magic.
