But once again, starting off small with a request to play a character I've played a ton by now! Eggman!
Not just modern, but other versions as well!
Such as classic eggman, Sat am Robotnik, adventures Robotnik, and even movie Robotnik cuz I love jim carry. And I'm sure there are a few other versions of eggman id play.

Some magic. Few can use it, but most of the players probably won't have it. Magical characters will likely believe that they are all alone.
Far future, perhaps galactic teleporters and fast terraforming
Wartime/soldier RPs. Combat is a given and will likely be graphic, but there's the potential for non-combat "in the trenches" scenes. World War 2, Vietnam, etc.
No romance at all will be included in this plot, period.
