Odo (played by Iltheyn)

Upon frost-capped mountains, far from home...

A blizzard rages, submerging each rocky terrace; jamming cartwheels, bringing the intrepid traveler to their knees.
The closest town is miles away; the nearest city, even further. Nobody expected such a storm during these warm months of the year. Nobody was prepared for it.

Yet, when all hope seems lost, a light may still be found: a mere pinprick against the frozen heights.

It sits against one of the mountain's many slopes, a lonesome survival cabin huddled beneath the stygian sky. Despite the gloom and unending snowfall, a light blooms from within it, drawing in all who would dare to traverse the summits. Who will this beacon bring forward? Lost merchants, who hoped to cross these mountains when the weather favored them? Warriors on their way to distant battles? Seekers of faith, or wanderers without a better place to be? Whomever approaches, they will know that this cabin has already been occupied before their arrival. The soft, muddled puffs of smoke emerging from its cobbled chimney and the red glow from within is unmistakable.

Closer to the cabin, the faintest scent of cooked meat may be caught by sharp noses. The sharpest, or most experienced, may identify it as rabbit. All tracks that may have indicated the inhabitant's identity have since been buried under thick, sheets of snow, but with some digging, the door may still be opened.
Adam Blaccat (played by Jooters)

Adam slowly climbed a slope, using an ornate silver staff as a walking stick to aid him in navigating the terrain. He saw the smoke from a distance, approaching it to hopefully find some warmth. He was clad in jet-black, heavy armor inlaid with silver icons of stars and full moons, and a heavy, navy blue, fur-lined cloak around his body. He had a satchel on one arm, an ornate shield and longsword on his back, and the aforementioned staff in his right hand. He seemed to have no helmet, although it was likely simply in his bag.
Trailing behind him is what seems to be a young boy, clad in much lighter silver armor. He had his own staff in his right hand, although this one made of wood, and a katana on his back. He seemed to be the height of a young child and very closely resembled the taller man.
Adam approached the cabin and lightly knocked on the door.
"Hello, is anybody in there?" He asked politely.

As the wayfaring duo approached the lonesome cabin, the winds buffeted them, whistling along the sharper edges of the cabin's exterior. The rapping of Adam's gloved fist against the door elicited a deep, wooden and hollow noise; this and his verbal inquiry were soon returned with the sound of something stepping closer inside. There was another sound as well, a mumble that was far too quiet to be heard beneath the howling winds. Wood ground against wood, and then the door opened just enough for the wandering duo to see the silhouette of a humanoid, darkened by the glow of the cabin's hearth behind them.

This figure stands taller than most men, with the top of his head partially obscured by the uppermost edge of the doorway. Furs cover most of his body, comprised of the processed hides of several forest creatures bound together. His nostrils flare as he smells the outside air, though the cold temperature offers little of substance to most. "Who comes?" He speaks in a low, rough voice carrying an accent of a land far away.

Adam looked slightly up at the man. Adam was only a few inches shorter than the orc in front of him—or, half orc, rather, judging by his appearance. He isn't often dwarfed, and so was caught slightly off guard. He cleared his throat and spoke.
"Hello there." He said politely. "My son and I were traveling and caught sight of this cabin. Would you mind if we came in? We have been traveling long and haven't rested in a good while."
Adam gently nudged his son to have him introduce himself and let his presence be known to the blind man, but the boy stayed silent. He clung to Adam's leg out of a mix of wanting warmth and of being slightly afraid of the half-orc.
