I've got this dusty old character here, and I've been thinking about him lately. Not for any particular reason. It's just been a while since I roleplayed, or really wrote anything besides poetry, and I want to get back into it. I'm interested in making friends and getting into the community.
First off, hi. I'm madly. I'm a fantasy writer--the English major type that's obsessed with literary theory, storytelling as a professional practice, language as an art, and all that jazz. If you're a like mind, yes, I want you to know I (also) have a conworld I starting building in 2013 but I've never really used beyond one campaign of D&D Pathfinder, although I did pour countless hours into building a jcink forum. And yeah, I do have an entirely different Discord roleplaying channel that is absolutely deserted because no one was interested. It's a liminal tea house! We don't have to play there. I just wanted to mention it.
Okay, about this guy. Núnècy is a young dragon and recent transplant into some kinda pre-modern humanesque society. He's gonna be the rather drippy looking smiling fellow right over there, standing exactly in the middle of where everyone is trying to walk. Yeah, yeah, you're going to look at him like he's an idiot. He definitely doesn't know what he's doing, but he's got spirit, y'know? Loneliness and overwhelm are good motivators, and besides, he wants to help! Maybe it's the gecko part of his brain, but he's absolutely willing to scale the face of the three story tavern to save that yowling cat. Granted, there's a good chance the darn thing is going to hurl itself off the roof when it sees him, though, because animals can kinda sense the falsehood of the shape change. And honestly, he's a draft horse-sized deep-sea salamander and nobody wants to nose-kiss that. Sorta tragic, because he's gotta fit in. He can't be an outcast forever.
Check his character page for his Pinterest board. It's a vibe.
So, medieval settings are great for dragon kind, right? It's where I'm leaning right now, although I think renaissance or gas lamp era would be cool, too. I'd probably need to read up or stare at Pinterest for a while to get my feet grounded in it, because it's new territory for me and I want to be fairly accurate (in a fun way). Also, low fantasy or kinda high--we can talk about magic. I'm not a super fan of D&D dragons with breath weapons. I'm more in the ASOIAF camp.
Not to say I want to rehash the same-old-same-old. He is a friendly sea dragon, after all. He's not made for slaying! He could potentially kidnap a princess, or a prince, but completely by accident and for an ultimately good cause! Or he could make friends with a knight, or a lady knight. Or a fishmonger. Or a pirate, or mer person, or kelpie! Really, it's all the same to me. I'd like to subvert some expectations, of course. If you have an archetypal character with a twist, bring it up. Or, if you have a stereotypical fire-breathing dragon, they could be each other's foils.
The feeling I'm getting right now is pretty light, kind of like Kiki's Delivery Service. Not the anime part. The real, existential themes in a lofi, day-by-day kinda way. But, if maybe you have need of a dragon with a certain mission, we could talk?
Oh, and final notes: I'm not really interested in romance. If it makes sense between the characters, sure! But it's not a dealbreaker for me. Additionally, I'm not interested in erotic roleplay, nor am I interested in confronting themes like bigotry and abuse.
Let me know if anything resonates with you.

Some magic. Few can use it, but most of the players probably won't have it. Magical characters will likely believe that they are all alone.
Renaissance
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Romance isn't outright desired, but can happen if we decide the characters are perfect for each other. The romance won't be important to the overall plot.
