Max : "Don't you dare propose that Lizbeth, I think they have enough work with those bots"

Lizbeth : "But whyyyy, one for bot hunters, same as an accolade for good welcomers, an accolade for bot reporters."

Lizbeth grins stupidly as she knows this would mean more work to count all the reports and give away awards to numerous members, only to display that fiercely and proudly as a trophy.

Max : "Oh Lizbeth, sometimes you're so silly, and nobody minds. Well you're as stubborn as you're silly, so I can't hold you back with all my strength. If you think it to be a good idea, well why not..." Max shakes his head, but has to smile thinking about the chanceless moderator to have to pick up Lizbeth idea.

Lizbeth : "Resistance is futile..." she laughs out loud.

"So dear moderator, this is my proposal an accolade for good service at hunting down bots and weird advertisements. For once a deer has a game too, not only be a prey, but a hunter, and a little reward would be nice...."
She'd look at the moderator with that melting big deer-eyes look, her head slightly tilted to the left and the most soft smile upon her lips.

I would be delighted to receive such an accolade.

I just consider it my civic duty, like picking up litter on the street and depositing it in the garbage bin.

I admit to be really quick to draw my ‘report’ gun and fire, especially when I see the same, or variations of a bot name I’ve seen on other websites, so yes it would be ‘cool’, but I’m also thinking it hasn’t been done as yet for good reason.

Agreed. I totally understand the appeal of shiny things on your profile, but man, keeping bots out is a forum-type civic duty (I like that description). I am unlikely to ever receive any accolade besides the one you get for giving introductions (and I wish I could hide them, like the kudos candles...), and it totally is fun to collect badges like Pokemon, but a badge for pressing the report button? Nah.

I imagine Kim et al. would have to manually keep track of which reports were actually for bots (and not rulebreaking or other mod needs), and this might not be obvious to users, leading to a potential problem of people spam-reporting in hopes of triggering some magic number to receive an accolade; and also, what about when multiple people report the same post/user? Who gets the "point"? All of them? Only the first one? How would they track that?

Maybe there's a magic spreadsheet somewhere, I don't know. But in case there isn't, this sounds like way too much work, and way less important to spend time on than actually fixing the holes the bots squeeze through.

Max : “See my little doe, I told you, it’s not that important. It only means more work to moderators and it will not be very interesting. I’m so sorry for my Lizbeth.”

Lizbeth looks ashamed to the floor, she will always be that lovely doe and not a certified hunter.

Lizbeth: “Ok, yes I do understand, it was only an idea. Thanks everyone and sorry to the moderation team for wanting to give you more work.”

But then she looks up again, blowing up her chest artificially, some weird selfish look in those eyes : “Still does this doe report any, and I mean any suspicious post and possible bot. Lizbeth bot-hunter on duty again. And as every time I, or anybody else, get a most friendly ‘Thank you’ from the bot killer, I’m happy. ”

Max : “That’s my doe, the first cervine hunter, and bots are her game. Thanks to everyone to have put my Lizbeth right again. Come here my honey.”

Max takes Lizbeth in her arms and gently kisses that muzzle of hers, hoping she will not ask again for such silly things, even if he admits that the idea is not completely nonsense.
