Pyratus Heolfr, an elderly sphynx cat, tapped away at the computer's keyboard, a young boy tied up and unconscious next to him.
"This boy right here is the only one who knows the spell we need. The one that will locate the pure hearts for us to harvest." He said, not looking at you. "After you botched it with the father, no one else has the spell we need except for him, and there's no way he's co-operating with us willingly."
Pyratus hit a key and waited as a progress bar filled before pushing his chair back and standing up.
"To repay me, you're going to make him cast it." He said. "You're joining him in the computer simulation. You have two months of simulated time. Fail? Our plan was for nothing."
He grabbed the boy and walked him over to a nearby holding pod, placing him inside. He dusted off his hands and looked at you.
"Do anything in your power to not let him realize he's in a simulation. And if anyone hacks in? Kill them."
He walked back to the computer monitor and sat down at the seat.
"You two are in a small, seaside town on summer vacation. He's a mage, and so his summer project is to cast the spell he was given. It might take both months of vacation, but it doesn't matter. Do it, no matter how long it takes, no matter how many simulations we have to run."
Then, he stood up walked you into your own pod.
"And you?"
Pyratus smiled.
"Have a lovely vacation. You'll need it."

Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
No romance at all will be included in this plot, period.
