Hello! Thought I'd post a little something for this event... The premise is that my character, Blight, accidentally summons somebody else's familiar, and that person doesn't appreciate it. You see, most of the time, when he summons a familiar, he gets his own very specific tiny gryphon. Occasionally, though, the entity he gets his magic from likes to mess with him, and sends some other creature instead. I thought it would be kind of funny if this time, the creature was specifically the familiar of another magic user. Blight likely wouldn't realize this at first, but he'd figure it out soon enough. Probably when that other magic user catches him with their familiar and confronts him about it.
I won't get into all the lore here, but in summary, Blight can be adjusted to fit either modern or medieval fantasy. Modern is the default, so I've set the genre slider accordingly, but the time period is flexible. In any case, this is a world where about a third of the human population has an inherent ability to use magic (think like DnD sorcerers) and there is also an option to gain magic by forming a pact with the Entity(TM) (like a DnD warlock.) Inherent magic is very well-documented; it isn't a secret at all. Pact magic is generally frowned upon and is far less well-understood, partly because of the being frowned upon thing and partly because of the generally cryptic nature of the Entity and those that serve it. Actually, nobody's even sure if the Entity is just one thing, or multiple...
So, feel free to use a character that fits into this world (including modifying an existing character, if that's what you want to do), but feel equally free to send a character from any other world into this one. Maybe the familiar and its mage got summoned across dimensions, somehow, who knows? We're using meet cute logic here so it doesn't need to make total sense.
Your character can be any age, gender, species, etc. Really, the only requirement for them is that they are some type of magic user and that they have a familiar. The familiar itself can be anything from a magical animal to something fae or demonic, or whatever else suits your character's vibe, and it can be played by either of us, whatever you'd prefer; the RP would focus more on the interaction between the two magic users, so I imagine the familiar taking a more NPC-type role, but I'm not opposed to it being exactly as prominent as you want it to be.
As the title says, this RP will be platonic. That's non-negotiable. I adore friendship and found family dynamics, so those are an option, though maybe not the most likely thing if this RP stays short-term. Of course, if we're having fun, we can work out something more long-term instead.
