A certain ivory-faced witch floated low to the ground, her little glowing eye-lights scanned the candy-paved streets of Trick-or-Treat Town to find a certain somebody. She leaned back a bit lazily on her broomstick, shoulders raised, her bony hands gripping the handle. Little violet flames danced around her while they made little squish noises~ at least until she lowered her trembling head, popped it back up, and shoo'd them away with a wave. A visible sigh blew from under her teeth while she closed her eye sockets. She lifted her skull to the moon and hummed a spooky tune~

The voices of children laughing and chatting seemed far away then. Even though the moon always glowed above Halloween World, the Townspeople still found time to sleep.

Blaze wandered through the strange streets of Halloween World, searching for Basil among the diverse crowd. He felt like he fit right in with the inhabitants of this unique place. “Where is she? She said she would be here somewhere…” Blaze muttered to himself as he chose a quieter path. Suddenly, he noticed someone floating in the air. “Is that you, Basil?” Blaze quietly called out as he picked up his pace.

It was her, he thought, as he followed the path toward her. Children ran past him while he quickly made his way to her. “Sorry for being late!” he exclaimed as he approached her and her floating broom.

"You're not late, Blaze~ you're right on time!" Basil smiled in the way she could, and offered him a small gift! "A chocolate pumpkin to welcome you to Trick or Treat Town! It's all yours! Wanna walk around town?"

Blaze sighed with relief when he arrived right on time. Seeing her present him with a small gift, he happily accepted the chocolate pumpkin from her, a smile spreading across his face. "Thank you, Basil. I will cherish this," he said, nodding at her invitation to walk around town. "Lead the way; you know this place better than I do," he added with enthusiasm. He was definitely looking forward to exploring the town with her before they embarked on something exciting together.

Basil floated backward slowly along the path while Blaze followed closely. Watching him hold the chocolate pumpkin, she gave him a soft giggle. "Did you know that Halloween world's moon is always full? It never sets in our sky." She told him as her eyes reflected the moon. "The sun was stolen years even before I was born. Weird, huh? I've never seen a sun before."

She blushed slightly, "Can you tell me what it looks like?"

He felt an attraction towards her, experiencing something he hadn't felt before. Was this love, or just a crush? "Really?" he said, listening as she explained how the sun had been stolen. It was a sad thought not to have sunlight. But how did the moon glow as it did? Surely, there had to be a sun to illuminate the moon. Unless the moon was magical in some way. He felt confused and, knowing she had never seen the sun, he felt a wave of sadness. He wanted to show her.

When she asked him to describe what the sun looked like during the day, he thought carefully about how to respond. "I can do one better. I can show you one from where I am from. We have both a sun and a moon. Trust me; you will fall in love with the sun," he said, a genuine smile spreading across his face, his pink eyes glimmering in the bright moonlight.

"No way! You can show me a sun? Oh my gosh should I get something? You think it likes chocolate?" She asked, as she went a little crazy! She waved her wand and bubbles came up out of the ground! They picked Blaze up off his feet and he floated in a big pool of them, and they carried both of them up into the air! "Hehe! Bubbles are my fave way to get around! At least besides flying!" She giggled! She dipped her hand in the bubbles and ate some of the little ones! "Go ahead, try some! They taste like berries~"

He chuckled at the idea of giving chocolate to the sun. "I don't think the sun will eat chocolate," he said to her. Seeing her excitement brought a smile to his face as he watched bubbles pop up from the ground. Suddenly, he felt his feet lift off the ground as bubbles surrounded both him and her, floating them into the air. "Whoa! I see that!" he exclaimed, looking down at the ground as he floated alongside her. He moved closer to her, wanting to ensure he wouldn't fall.

As he calmed down, he watched her eat some of the bubbles, intrigued by the idea of eating them. He decided to try it himself, taking a small bubble in his hand and eating it. "It really does taste like berries!" he said, surprised by the flavor. "What other surprises do you have up your sleeve, Basil?" he asked, still floating above the ground.

Basil giggled over her date's excitement, and his question. "All in due time, Blaze~ a magician never reveals her tricks too soon~" as they floated above town in a cloud, they could see everything in Halloween world on the horizons. There was a carnival, a big pumpkin castle, a vast sea with some old pirate ships, a market to the south of town, and a spooky woods to the north, and beyond that was an equally vast graveyard. "Check it out~" she said, looking towards the graveyard. "That's where all the ghosts come from. And see that big, dense fog all the way behind it? That's where the ghost queen's castle is. But, I've never been there before." She chuckled and shivered at the same time~ "Scary, huh! Well, do you see any place you wanna go? I like to hang out around the graveyard sometimes, but my favorite place..." she pointed towards the castle, "is the garden in the middle of the pumpkin patch there. That's where the witches go to plant their special herbs~"

"Then it will be well worth it, Basil!" Blaze said, floating up beside her with a smile on his face. For the first time, he felt alive and no longer alone. Everything he saw on the horizon was breathtaking—something he had never encountered in his universe, which was filled with constant warfare and death. This place was where he wanted to live from now on.

He turned to look in the direction she was gazing and spotted a massive graveyard that appeared to be ancient. "Never? We should visit it together..." he whispered, floating in the sky with his pink eyes narrowed toward the horizon. He found the graveyard intriguing and wanted to explore it.

"The garden?" he asked as he glanced at the middle of the pumpkin patch. "We could go there. I don't mind! Let's go. Afterward, we should visit the graveyard, and maybe even the queen!" he exclaimed, excitement shining in his eyes as he chuckled at the thought of meeting the queen.

Basil's eyes showed a glimmer of adventure towards him when he sounded excited to visit the ghost queen. "Huh! I thought I pegged you for the dangerous type. You aren't afraid of anything, are ya?" She giggled~ "Well, I hope you're afraid of something~ It is Halloween world after all~ there's always room for a good scare~" She hummed as the cloud of bubbles floated them towards the castle garden, which nestled between a big pumpkin patch. "You know, the Ghost Queen is feared by all Halloweenians~" she said with a playful squint as the bubbles softly dissipated, and their feet softly lowered to the grass~

Basil had to look up! "Wow, Blaze... while I was on my broom I didn't realize how tall you are!" she giggled! "You don't mind coming down here to look at the plants, do you?"

The garden nestled within the border of pumpkins, and the castle peered over the horizon from across the patch. It wasn't a huge garden, and it was quiet, save for the sound of crickets and frogs, and small blue lights floated listlessly like fireflies! And the plants looked different from a lot of the ones scattered about the land which mostly resembled candies. These plants came in all shapes, colors and sizes... flowers that looked like ghosts, and small ethereal skulls, glowing green bells, thorny stalks with fangs growing at the top. And even tiny pumpkins and bubbling mushrooms!

"Check these out! My favorites..." she whispered, motioning him to the little ghost flowers. When she came near, they made little moans! "Aren't they cute? These are ghost lilies!" she picked one and brought it closer to him, and it looked at Blaze while it danced slowly and made quiet little howls. "OoooooO!! OooooOooo!" it cried!

He listened thoughtfully to what she said, reflecting on his lack of fear, especially considering the hardships he had already faced. "Yeah, I'm pretty tough when it comes to fear. My life wasn't easy at the beginning—filled with horrors and the temptation of a God of Chaos. You can understand that," he said, a slight grin on his face. He was sharing his past with her.

"Me? Afraid of the Ghost Queen? We'll see if she can scare me," he replied with a playful expression. As they were lowered to the grass, he gazed at her, his pink eyes locked onto hers.

He had to look down at her due to his height, and in the pale moonlight, his well-toned body became evident. "Not at all! And yeah, I guess I am pretty tall, aren't I?" he said, agreeing to check out the plants with her.

The sight of the small garden brought a smile to his face as he observed her. "What a wonderful garden here in Halloween World," he said, looking around at the various plants. He picked up one of the small ethereal skulls, examining it curiously.

When he noticed the ghost lilies in her hand, he turned his gaze back to her. "They're definitely eerily beautiful. Thanks for showing me this garden, Basil," he said, gently touching a ghost lily, which emitted soft sounds as his fingers brushed against it.
