So I'm working on my character. I already have her profile and such but I'm stuck on making her species and her powers. To summarize what she does/is basically she was royalty whose bloodline was special due to their blood having special properties that allows those who take it to heal themselves or get a temporary power boost. That's why they were hunted down and she's one of the few remaining and now she works as a waitress in some far off kingdom while keeping her past a secret.
Anyways, I tend to struggle picking what species and powers to give my characters like I feel they need to always be something more than just human.

Sounds like a dragon to me, shapeshifter with healing capacities. Drinking dragon blood is commonly associated to healing and indestructibility. Quite more than a human, a Dragonborn.

Fae ancestry is common for such gimmicks. As are spells, blessings, curses, etc, that pass down through generations.

Being human is absolutely still an option. If you simply don't want them to be human tor some reason, that's valid, too. Some folks just don't like to have human characters.
