I would like some help with setting up my blind character. He believes that you eyes can deceive you. He became blind gave up his eyes to gain enhanced senses beyond sight. When I say he gave up his eye what I means that truly give up his eyes which means from now his has no eyes what so ever. Now his other sense are enhanced beyond those of a human. Since giving up his eyes he gained an unusual form of awareness that allows him to detect all the physical objects around him, including fine details about those objects. This sense is nearly impossible to block or blind.
Physical Description: Metallic copper scales cover his lean and well-defined body. A pair of gigantic wings, shaped like those of an eagle but with metallic American red feathers that culminate in a razor-sharp claw at the upper joints, majestically sweeps out from his back. These wings have a wingspan of eighteen feet. A long segmented horn is located on both sides of his head. For the first third of their total length, these horns curve forward, after which they curve upwards and backwards for the remainder of their length. Thick, bony, horizontal ridges start at his forehead and end at the beginning of the back of his neck. Rising three-fourths of an inch above his head are his pointed and webbed ears. No eyes are found on his head. Instead, he has skin stretched across where his eye sockets should be. Two vertical slits serve as his nose. In place of both arms, he has a knot of flesh at both of his shoulders, from which three highly flexible, nightmarish, shadowy tentacles that can touch the ground emerge. The end of each of these tentacles split into three radial “fingers.” A powerful, tapering, prehensile tail that measures three feet in length extends from the end of his spine. Tipping the three forward-facing prehensile toes and one backward-facing prehensile toe on both of his feet is a razor-sharp talon of bone.

In what kind can we help you?
If you mean enhanced senses, you better have a look in animal kingdom, like Lizbeth, my little doe. In her profile are proven facts about the senses of a deer.
Tactile sense, there’s no better than your own lips, able to sense a fraction of a millimeter.

I am trying to figure how he gain his in enhanced senses. What I thought about was that he gave him eyes up to a wizard who gave him his enhanced senses and transformed his whole body into what you see in the description I posted. But why would the wizard need to transformed m his physical appearance? I don't want to him be overpowered when it comes to his senses. Having him sound like a Daredevil ripoff when it comes to his his enhanced sense something I want to avoid.
Would he be able to fly with these enhanced senses?
When you mentioned using the animal kingdom you got thinking of how the sense of smell that a bear has is better than a bloodhound's. The most common estimate is that a bear can smell about seven times better than a bloodhound dog—several miles minimum. You know I could pinch the senses of a shark. Though it might be to much if has the ability to detect even the faintest of electrical fields along with the ability listed below.
Does this sound a bit overpowered? He possesses an unusual form of awareness that allows him to detect all the physical objects around him, including fine details about those objects. This sense is nearly impossible to block or blind.

No, that’s the point, if you take real existing senses, like the electrical field of a shark, the echo radar of a bat, the smell of a bear or the Jacobson organ that detects pheromones, those “superpowers” exist and aren’t so “super” anymore.
So there’s no over powering, it’s not indestructible Superman with lava look… it exists. You made research and can give real examples of enhanced senses. Knowing that those senses are ONLY enhanced for humans, for a bear it’s totally normal, a shark would die without his electrical field, a bat would just flatter and bump into every obstacle. And even those senses have limits or can be blurred or altered.
He’s no Daredevil, but the combination of an echo radar with electrical field can provide a quite accurate image without seeing it. Yet no colors, no shades, no things that need vision and light.
So even the fact he can fly is ‘excused’, bats fly with very poor vision.
The wizard needs a creature to test different abilities to see how they function on an other being and how they interact. Maybe to use it on himself afterwards or to create the perfect soldier.

I should get rid of his unusual form of awareness that allows him to detect all the physical objects around him, including fine details about those objects?
Can I ask for better understanding -
Is his ability to see objects stop him from having any weakness at all? Like is he able to interact with the world around him perfectly despite not being able to see?
If so, then why not just have a person who can see?
Dont get me wrong I think we need inclusivity in stories - but it's not inclusivity if we don't show the struggles that they have because of those accessibility needs.

I believe you saying that he doesn't trust his eyes, for whatever reason. But he trusts his other 'vision' as this doesn't reflect any optical illusion and renders the object as it is real, for him in this case. Don't get rid of it if it is that what you want to describe or write.
It's like a blind person, being blind since birth, but an ability to detect rather than see.
Yes it seems legit to say, why not a person that can see. An ability to detect without seeing is extremely useful in complete darkness or total blinding light. And that detection enhanced to almost perfection can identify details, maybe even contrasts (reading for example).
Four is right, developing an other 'vision' can be seen as weird, why not see normally? A new hope for blind?
Your purpose is simply seeing without light.

I want to make sure that I am doing this character and not having overpowered is one of my goals with him.
Then like I say, why are they blind if it doesn't effect them?
Even powerful people that have limited vision in fiction have weakensses specifically related to their limitation. Daredevil's eakness is because the senses are stronger, he can be incapacitated more easily by overwhelming senses. Loud noises, overwhelming scents, etc.
Toph Beifong from Avatar the Last Airbender: One of the strongest earthbenders but her limitations come in from where she is, or there's even an episode where her feet are burned and she can't 'see' anything.
You don't have to get rid of the limitation, or the super power derived from it, but the best characters are flawed and have weaknesses. If someone's limitation doesn't effect how they interact with the world, then it can come across as insensitive to reflect it.

Originally this character had the ability to the see auras around objects and living beings instead of the unusual form of awareness. An aura is a brightly colored radiance that extends for several meters about a person. The color of a person’s (or an object’s) aura has meaning to those experienced in perceiving auras.
Do you think that replacing his unusual form of awareness with the ability to detect the weak electrical fields produced by living thing would be better for him?

NM
I think I got the problem here, it’s not the thing about how he perceives his environment, it’s more how others perceive him.
You have said at least twice that you don’t want to overpower him, you’re just afraid that you are godmodding and impose a too strong being that others can’t handle.
The aura is exactly the electrical field the shark can detect, and that one can’t be blinded, and yet, linked to emotion it can be altered. Without intention, so that the aura can’t lie. He doesn’t trust his eyes but the enhanced perception of the aura.
As Four says, a weakness imposes to make him plausible, the famous Achilles’ heel.
No you are not overpowering him, you just want to imagine how this being perceives the world.
May I say the idea you have is great, define simply the limits of his perception by inspiring yourself from reality. What’s the bear’s limit in smell?

If I am repeating myself I want to apologize for that.
When I made this character my goal was not make a copy of Daredevil when it came to his senses is why I gave him the ability sense aura of living beings. He does possess a danger sense. This danger sense forewarns him of any danger to his person, regardless of the source or whether he could detect the danger with his other senses. It also him to detect danger to anyone or anything in his immediate vicinity.
Giving him weakness when it come his sense is a thing I want to do with him.
At one pointed he had claws and a long prehensile tongue.
I think that having the ability to sense the weak electrical fields produced by living creatures sound better than then him having an unusual form of awareness that allows him to detect all the physical objects around him, including fine details about those objects.

Don’t worry about repeating!
You’re doing good with your character, you are close to find solution that suits you.
He is far from daredevil, some might say the contrary, yet you want to give him an other consciousness. It’s not because that one is described like that, that you are not allowed to use hypersensitivity. He is not overpowered if you use existing (that means possible) degrees of sensitivity.
The fact that he doesn’t trust his eyes gives him a sort of vulnerability, making his senses explainable takes away that feeling if “It’s like that, take it or leave it”. Makes him ‘human’ .
Daredevil is something untouchable, superpower always win… your character is tangible, has a soul. I must admit, despite his looks (I’m not into fighting and supernatural), the more you talk about him, the more I imagine him meeting my doe.
Keep it up, you’re close to your new OC. Does he have a name?

I think that sounds cool, honestly. Even just energy off of people as we create energy when we move. I think it'd be easier to give him a bit more weakness, or work around that when it's needed for plot purposes. I like aura's too, if there's room for any kind of spirituality in your characters world. Being able to feel the auras or something of people, but then it wouldn't so much account for the objects, too. Though! If you close your eyes in an empty room or a full room you can usually tell how big or small the room is and how much stuff is in it, you know? If that makes sesne. So even just heightening that along with auras or something.
And any of this works anyway, if you're worried about him being OP just... don't have him be op. Make it a little weaker. Work with your rp partner on what could effect him.
Something you don't see happening to a person who becomes blind is having their other senses enhanced to the levels of those of animals to compensate for their blindness.
Sensory overload is something he has to worry about.
Lizbeth Redwood you got me thinking of how Daredevil is is an expert at marksmanship. I have seen it said that Daredevil is expert marksman with sniper rifles, and he has been known to be skilled in archery despite being blind.
The ampullae of Lorenzini are replacing the unusual awareness that he originally had. The unusual form of awareness that he originally possessed seemed a bit too powerful for him is one reason why I replaced it with the ampullae of Lorenzini. The other reason I replaced that ability with the ampullae of Lorenzini is that you don't see many characters with the ability to detect the electrical impulses given off by living creatures. His ability to detect the electrical impulses generated by the muscle contractions of nearby creatures is so sensitive that it allows him to detect a beating heart. This means that he now has dark spots on his head which are the ampullae of Lorenzini.
Here are things that I have found about animals when it comes to their enhanced senses:
1) Many animals can sense changes in atmospheric pressure that indicate approaching weather systems, often hours or days before humans notice any signs. It helps them prepare for storms, find shelter, or adjust their behavior accordingly.
2) Some insects and spiders can sense tiny changes in humidity levels, helping them find suitable environments for survival and reproduction. This sense helps them locate water sources or avoid areas that might be too dry or too moist.
3) Many animals have enhanced gravity-sensing organs that help them maintain perfect orientation even when upside down, spinning, or in complex three-dimensional environments. It’s especially important for flying, swimming, and climbing creatures.
4) Elephants, snakes, and many other animals can feel vibrations traveling through the ground, alerting them to approaching threats, prey, or potential mates from great distances. This sense works like an early warning system for events happening far away.
5) Many birds, sea turtles, and even some mammals can sense Earth’s magnetic field and use it like an internal compass for navigation. It allows them to migrate thousands of miles with pinpoint accuracy, returning to exact locations year after year without getting lost.
6) Many animals have incredibly precise internal clocks that let them sense subtle changes in daylight length, tidal cycles, or seasonal patterns. It helps them time migrations, breeding, and other important life events with remarkable accuracy.

See, now you got it, it's all there in nature
To the Lorenzini organ ad the Jacobson organ that detects pheromones, and a terrible good ear and you have a danger detection explained.
And yes, all this together if not mastered, will just set it all to overload. Nervousness is electric, emotions spread pheromones...
Four's idea of spirituality is giving him even a more 'down to earth' mortal sense.
I feel happy for you as you seem to have the fitting solution
He's cool your character, really cool

Honestly I think him having the enhanced senses of animals might make him have senses that can possibly outperform the senses of Daredevil. Like rats having fine-tuned noses that let them smell in stereo. Bears are said have the best sense of smell of all animals if correct. If correct then a bear's nose can detect scents that are 10,000 times weaker than what a human can smell. Catfish are said to have up to 175,000 taste-sensitive cells. The cavefish is said to have substantially sensitive hearing as it can detect even the slightest noise at 1 kHz. If true then an elephant has the ability to smell water from 10-12 miles away.
