I'm pretty new to roleplaying. I'm mostly looking for something more modern and edgy. I also just kinda want a reason to use this character. I'm open to a lot of scenarios. I'm just looking for a more modern base theme.
For other characters I think more sunshiny people would be good. People on a mission to make the world a better place and everyone happy. A school setting is what I can see working best for this. A place where mental health seems to be at a bit of a low and a bright character breaks through it. They grab everyone by the shoulders and make unsettling eye contact with them until they aren't sad anymore... metaphorically of course.
Like I said I am new and don't know my way around things very well so I apologize in advance. I'm open to just about every idea, the exception being anything NSFW.

On very, very, rare occasions there may be unexplained, POSSIBLY supernatural events. Minor "environmental" magic. Perhaps implies the existence of a deity or supernatural entity. Or perhaps it's just tricks?
Near future, perhaps cloning and genetic manipulation
A peaceful setting, but with a chance for small fights and struggles to break out on a very small scale.
Romance is expected but not required, and will be accompanied by other plot.
Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred. Will be played with a small group of players.
