Is there a way to edit the free templates available to us? There are some themes that I like overall aside from some elements that I'd like to be able to fiddle with but so far as I can see it's not possible.
Sadly no, there is no way to edit already made templates. However if you are an Epic Member you can create your very own and edit it as much as you like untill the Epicness is gone.

It's too bad. I have some that I really like, save a few details. Would be awesome to be able to mod the CSS source code for our own versions.

Yeah, I knew that, I just don't want to create a new template from scratch if I don't have to. Thanks for replying.

You can. You need to go Into the source page of a profile with the template you want to modify, find the css file in the source, then copy and paste it into your own epic template.

Make sure to remove the CHARSET at the top and finish all the links for images so they work. (E.g. blue.jpg = <a href="http://www.rprepository.com/template/blue.jpg">http://www.rprepository.com/template/blue.jpg</a>)

You can do this freely with any official RPR templates (not epic templates). Keep in mind some templates use Google fonts which you lose when you move it into its own template.

Oh, but speaking of - when will there be Google Fonts support for custom templates?

No idea, but it's on Kim's list: http://www.rprepository.com/development/developmentTask.php?task=107
You actually already can use the CSS import feature when working on a custom template, and Google Fonts offers that snippet. I used it myself in my Light Notes template. :)

I have used @font-embed before, if that's what you're referring to, which has mixed results. It's still pretty new and compatibility between browsers is a little wonk. On a template I made for someone else, the custom fonts won't work in Firefox.

It's no longer (going to be) supported. I don't know when it will happen or if it's happened yet though.
