I'm making a fey who is a healer, and she heals by cooking food. However when I Googled the rules of the fey, it mentioned; "Don't consume the food or drink of the Feywild." Does this apply to the fey as a species or just that peculiar realm?
It only matters if you decide that it matters.

That's the fun thing about fiction is that you can make it completely arbitrary and no one can stop you.

Is eating their food dangerous? If you want it to be, then yes. If you don't want it to be, then no.
It's folklore; there are no hard and fast rules. Like @RoundTableKing says, it only matters if you decide that it matters.

You reference the Feywild, which is a specific plane of existence in the Forgotten Realms setting for D&D. If that's a depiction of fairies that you find interesting, by all means, look into it! (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

Personally, I think that intersection between her way of healing/the rule that non-fey should not eat fey food could be just plot fodder with incredible angst potential. Like, does she think that it's bad that non-fey will be forced to stay in the realm of fairie if they eat her food, or is that really just a bonus on top of healing them? If she does think it's bad, what kind of desperation does she/the wounded person need to be driven to to consume the food she cooks anyway?
