Hanley found it strange that she had paid without realizing it, but wasn't sure if she should ask. She did anyway. "You have my sincere gratitude for procuring such a specialty item, and I think it'll be delicious, but... You didn't take any of my memories as payment, right? Or... bodily samples?" That sort of stuff was the worst.
Then again, Lizbeth had been told she had paid, yet hadn't apparently paid either. Hanley didn't see them do anything to her. Empaths and telepaths worked in mysterious ways, though. "And you didn't promise me as a sacrifice to some entity? Forgive me, deals with which I have no knowings of their doings are frightening to me. I assumed I would pay for my items with money."
Hanley scrutinized the wrapper on Lizbeth's chocolate she held up, which was shiny and had some indiscernible shapes on it. Something made her look away.
"I'm glad you got what you wanted," she said to the deer. "And, thinking about what you said, I do believe you are right. Unless the cost is too much, one should definitely find their heart's desire mysteriously here. If they're a chocolate lover."
"Sorry, Yoo-nit," she said, finally remembering the droid's name. "It's been too long, I don't know where she might be by now. Did you check the classifieds?"
Pressing some buttons on her wristpadd, she projected an image of a newspaper, with a digital interface.

The Wizard laughed brightly, shaking their head. "No, no, nothing like that. In fact, you didn't pay me at all... It was the delivery fellow that you gave your payment to. I'm sure you remember..."
The cat lifted his head, blinking at Hanley and Lizbeth - the only two guests who had been so kind as to pet him. Wonderful payment indeed, for a cat doing delivery work.
