The EDF were in one of their bases over the free fire zone, a location between Parker and EOS. the free fire zone was made to stop the red faction and marauders from getting to their main base in EOS. The EDF had orders to shoot any person, vehicle, or aircraft that goes through the free fire zone, unless it was being escorted by the EDF. one of the EDF officers got a blimp on his radar, a ship, unknown class flying over the free fire zone. "Got another one on the radar sir" the drone said to the officer in the base, the Officer smirks and nods "wow, today has been a busy day. Fire at will" the officer says sipping his coffee. the Cannons fire at the ship, some missing, others hitting. The ship was not destroyed it however crashed near by. The drone looks at the officer "the ship was not destroyed sir, it just crashed near by" the drone said and the officer nodded "get a drone unit out there then, double time" the officer shouts and the drone nods running off

two EDF solders and four drones were in a jeep driving over to the crash sight, the drones were in blue armor and the troopers were in brown. they were armed with only pistols and assault rifles, mainly because the EDF had assumed no one had survived the crash at all. they soon got their and the troopers got out of the car and stepped onto the orange Mars rock and dust and began searching the area for survivors

Falling.

Jackson Gray, captain over the entire third batch of the Archangel Initiative, captain in the fourth echelon of the Intergalactic Earth Defense Army, had been shot down.

What?

Jack quickly strapped himself into a chair, as did the four Archangels flying with him.

The Archangel Initiative was a project designed to create the ultimate super-soldier. The project created test-tube babies with traits from both humans and animals, including things like an eagle's vision skill, cheetah speed, the like. Jackson was one of those projects. And now his ship was going down, due to damage to starboard wing 1st and 2nd thrusters, and wing. So Jack and all his soldiers strapped in as hell was raised in the cabin of their dropship.

After the crash, Jack unbuckled himself and got out of his chair and called to his men. But when he looked around, every one of them were killed, sliced to bits by shrapnel. How Jack had survived was a mystery for the ages.

The mystery was put off for a time, because Jack heard voices and boots. Soldiers to investigate the damage. Jackson hid and activated a cloaking device to hide momentarily. It wouldn't work for long, but it would give him a fighting edge.

the men were talking too each other as they looked around "I am not detecting any life forms" one trooper says with a scanner in hand, one of the blue solders.

one of the brown solders looked over at him "that does not mean anything, keep on eye on your radars, if one of us dies the Radar should flare up, Call for back up if that is the case" he says and clutches his assault rifle looking around the area.

Little did anyone there know, Chris, a well known Red Faction insurgent was spying on them through the scope of his sniper rifle. he looked at them all and then got a curious look in his eyes "what have you shot down this time EDF?" he asks curiously and cocks a round into the chamber and looks at one of the brown solders, that had a cap instead of a helmet "well that is their leader..." he mumbles

Jack pulled his pistol out. It was a beautiful weapon. A 9mm pistol, easily concealed in his messenger bag when in civilian clothing and powerful enough to kill in a shot. He carefully aimed and fired, killing the first of the blue-armored soldiers, killing him instantly. The other soldier with him whipped around, trying to find the shooter, but Jack's cloaking was still active. The soldier was about to call backup when Jack fired again.

Jack's bullet whizzed past the soldier and he was able to complete a mayday call. Jack slammed his fist into the soldier's head and killed the man in a single, well placed blow. Jack saw action outside and saw a sniper round take out the leader. ((Assuming that Chris took the shot)) Jack hoped that the shooter was not hostile. He activated his tech glasses' thermal vision and saw the shooter. Jack was certain that he could make an effective shot if he left cover, but he wanted to make sure he wasn't going to kill a potential ally. So, he spoke into his radio transmitter and hoped that his comm would connect with the sniper's.

Chris was walking back he heard a gun shot, he took out his sniper rifle and quickly ran back too his spot and breathed in and looked through his scope, he took aim, accounted for the bullet drop and took out the leader and aimed his sniper rifle at Jackson, he did not get any transmission, he could see Jackson through his scope and the one or two solders that had now ducked behind their car for cover but judging by his outfit he knew Jackson was at least not an EDF solder, or a Marauder. Chris pulled up his sniper rifle and put it on his back and slowly slide down the mountain with his hands away from his pockets so he would not think he was trying too pull a fast one on Jackson

Jack waved at the strange soldier who was sliding down the hill, hand not too distant from his now holstered 9mm. He attempted comm again.

'I repeat. Do you copy? This is Archangel AXP31, callsign Grayhawk. I mean you no harm, thank you for sniper support. Please refrain from firing. I would like to establish communication, over."

Chris nods a little and puts his hand too his ear com 'No problem, I am Chris, Local Red Faction Insurgent, I saw your ship go down about a mile back that way and drove out north and came too see what was up, seems the EDF did not take too kindly to you coming through their airspace' he says on the comm and he soon got too the bottom of the hill and looked at the two solders behind the car and he took out his rifle again and shot the two troopers and put his rifle back "I suggest we get out of here before their reinforcements show up, likely tanks or something along those lines, they get REALLY worried about people breaking into EOS so security is tight around here" he calls out too him

Jack looked back to the interior of his ship.

"All of these Archangels were my dear friends, all were my family. They will be mourned when I get back home."

A single tear, shed for comrades in arms, fell from Jack's eye and dripped to the ground.

Jack looked up, eyes blazing, at Chris.

"For now, I'm gonna avenge them. No matter the cost. The EDF has made a serious mistake, and they are going to pay for it. My question for you is, are you gonna help me? Or are you going to get in my way?"

he looks around at the bodies and sighs looking up at him "Look, that is what the Red Faction is doing, trying too stop the EDF but unless you happen too have a couple dozen rockets or a Nano Rifle around here we are going too get obliterated by the EDF's armor, and you cant avenge anyone if your dead now can ya?" he asks folding his arms

"Hmm. Well, what kind of weapons do your faction have? I'll do what I can with what I can get, but if we have any heavy artillery, that would be nice to know about."

Jack walked into his ship again, walking by the bodies to look at a wall.

"Chris! I think I have something we might be able to use! This is a Data gun."

Jack pointed to a device that looked similar to a rocket launcher, except there was a glass lens over the firing end, and there appeared to be a rather large hard drive attached to the end.

"This weapon can turn an object into data, dematerialize it and save it to the hard drive on the back. The hard drive has a storage of about 450 terabytes, which could store about 45 average, armored soldiers, or do some serious damage to aircraft. People take up a lot of data. Anyway, I think this is a bit better than a nano rifle"

he looks at him "Well, all of the EDF weapons are at our disposal, but we have Arc Welders...that actually would come in handy if I had brought one as we could just electrocute the tank drivers and then hope on in them and go and have ourselves a parade..." he says "or A raildriver...that thing shoots through walls and metal" he says and then shakes his head and walked over too him and looked at his weapon "Actually the two weapons sound the same, the Nano rifle uses nanites too break down a target, so I guess they pretty much are the same thing" he says and looks around "...oh wait" he says and takes out his radar "I Forgot why I came out here!" he says and looks at him "Stay here, I have a plan" he says and runs off.

The EDF came too his location five minutes later, with about two gunships, three armored transports and two tanks. that means about thirty troopers all piled out and began looking around for signs of Jack

By the time they got there, though, Jackson was hiding behind a group of rocks, aiming his data gun very carefully. He could probably wipe out the entire team and have enough time to get out of there.

Suddenly, a group of soldiers made a very, very dumb decision. They pulled one of the bodies out of the ship. They looked at each other, laughed, and started kicking it. Jack recognized the body immediately. It was his old mentor, Captain Calregius. This act of blatant disrespect for his elder Archangel was so infuriating that Jack lost all sense of dignity and sanity and let himself down upon the enemy.

When Chris returned, about half of the soldiers were dead, and the other half were being killed.

the rest of the people alive were the tanks, the hovercraft and the few heavy troopers and two of the armored transports. the two armored transports had mounted machine gun turrets and they were now firing at Jack as well. The tanks were firing their main cannons as well

A giant metal arm grabbed one of the armored cars and threw it into one of the Hovercrafts. The tanks started too back away and were now turning their attention too Chris, his mission here was too steal back the large mining mechs the EDF stole from the miners, Now those mechs would be used for crushing the EDF units here. Chris used the Mech's arc welder on one of the tanks and killed the crew of the tank, the other tank blasted Chris's mechs chest, damaging it. but the Mech seemed too be slow but sturdy "here you go! take that new tank! it be a fun toy" Chris says on the com

Jack ran to the other tank, climbed the side, forced the hatch, and tossed in a bio-rinse grenade. Bio rinses are exactly what they sound like: A weapon that destroys all living matter. Jack jumped into the tank and started using it, firing at the hovercrafts and shooting them down.

Once the fight was over, Jack jumped out of the tank and walked to Chris, in his mech.

"That went well. Are you doing okay?"

he looks at himself "I am fine, the mech is a little busted but not too much so, how about you?" he askand then makes the Mech bend down onto its knees "get on! I need to transport this somewhere, the person I am taking this too could take us back too my base!" he calls down at him
