The rain fell heavily on the black police box parked outside the Ross household. A month had passed since the tragic incident that led to the loss of Penelope's arm.
In front of the police box, hidden in the rain and soaked to the skin. Edward Hudacious observed the household.
He had done this each day for the past four weeks. Watching and critically analyzing every step she took. He had no foul intentions but felt an obligation to make sure the girl was getting accustomed to her new body part.
So far everything had gone well. Just a few more weeks and then he would leave this place. There were surely many other male and female individuals who were hit once again by the evil force of unfortunate luck.
He was about to turn away from the house and return to his ship when he caught a glimpse of the girl herself.
Penelope Ross.
She was gazing out the living room window. Though her eyes weren't fixed on his location, the thought of hiding occurred to him.
It was quickly shut down by the realization of the background. Even if she could see him, he'd be nothing but a silhouetted figure in front of a black box.
There was something peculiar about her actions and general behavior. He had helped other people in similar situations before yet none of them had reacted in the way she did.
It was almost as if she was searching for something.
Perhaps it was him she was searching for?
No, there'd be no reason for her to do that.
The rain continued to defile his fresh black hair as thunder raged on in the dark sky like that of a pathetic fallacy.
He continued to observe the girl.
What a bitter life he lived.

What a bitter life he lived.
She was searching out the window of her living room. Her parents' bickering in the kitchen about how she needed an arm that was more human-like. She didn't care. The man or woman who had given her this arm was out there. She wanted to thank him for saving her life. If she hadn't gotten the prosthetic she would have died. She closed her eyes and found herself feeling her mechanical arm. Then she went and pulled her coat over her small frame and descided a nice walk in the rain never hurt anyone. She grabbed a green umbrella and opened her front door. "Mom...dad...I'm going to for a walk." after a few sullen replies of 'okay' and 'be safe' she set off. Her baby blue boots splashing in the collected water on the street as she did.
Edward observed the spectacle. It wasn't like her to go out this late at night.
From his elevated position. He followed the girl with his eyes, ensuring that she was safe.

Penelope walked along the street until she got to her park down the road. She usually came here and always went to a picnic table. Instead she went to a swinger and sat down and pulled out her case file. She wanted to find any small amount of information to find her hero.
She had walked into a park. There probably was something of great importance that she had to do there.
It was unlike her to go outside alone at this time of the night, especially within the rain.
He watched as she sat down on a swing set and revealed a case file.
What was inside that file that was so important, she had left the safety of her own home to read it?
His mind was made up.
He would approach her for the first time as a friendly individual. It shouldn't cause any alarms as he'd pretend to be a local of the area.
Before he knew it, he was sitting on the swing next to her.
"Mind telling me what a woman like yourself is doing out here in the rain by herself?"

She was so enthralled 28th the file she jumped and then sighed." I'm sorry....hi.....I'm....just.....homework." she said and tried hiding the case file but a price of paper stuck out the top saying."Penelope woke up in the hospital with a prosthetic which was unidentified."

The rain continued to attack the earth with it's powerful drops which Edward was once again a victim to as he looked at the girl. Fresh and clean, she was protected from the rain.
With keen eyes, he noticed the piece of paper then shifted his gaze to her arm.
"You lost your arm?, how did that happen?"
"My brother..." she said and looked at it." he wanted to take me somewhere. He went way too fast and there we were....crushed...." she said and nodded smiling sheepishly."but yea.....he left After I got out."
His expression changed.
"Wait... did i hear you correctly?,
you said your brother drove too fast causing your arm to be crushed.....and he...left you?....."

Well...technically...I opened the door at the wrong time and....my arm just....ripped." she said and shrugged."he's somewhere in Mexico....I'm sure he's fine...." she said sighing softly and looked at the machine arm.
"What did your parents say?, the arm seems expensive. Your family must be quite wealthy if they were able to buy you that specific model."
She sighed shaking her head."no...someone...have it to me...we didn't pay anything...I desperately want to find out who....I want to pay then back......"
His predictions were correct.
She was searching for him after all.
He smiled, "That's nice of them."
"You know, if i was to do something like that, i wouldn't want the person i helped trying to find me. They were in serious trouble and that was the only way i could help them.
I'd want them to move on and continue their life."

" I can't continue anything I never started." she said and shrugged."I prefer not to do anything...over going out with friends.....especially when I cannot cope with these feelings of...saddness knowing I don't know who he is..."
He laughed. "How do you know it's a 'He', it could very well be a woman for all you know."
"Kindness is a trait that anyone can share."
"Besides, if i had known that-" he quickly cut himself off. "So what's your next plan?"

She shrugged."because all the doctors around me was make....so....it makes sense for it to be a man." then presented with a question. She sighed and she looked up at him." I don't know...I have school...." she said and looked away."is it....bad for me to want to know......who saved my,life..."
He looked into the girl's eyes and took a long sigh.
"I suppose i haven't been honest with you."
"I know who gave you that arm, and yes, it is a 'he'.
However, he wanted me to let you know that you don't owe him a single thing."
He placed his hand on her right shoulder.
"You should go out a create a life for yourself with your new arm. That was the whole purpose!."

She flinched as he put his hand on her shoulder." I would of I knew how to....i want to do something...but I don't know how to do anything...I can't do things anymore...it's embarrassing.....I ....I don't know what to do..."
He sat in deep thought for a moment.
"So tell me. What is it you want most in the world."
"So tell me. What is it you want most in the world."
"To find my hero..." she said and stood up tucking the file under her real arm."I need to find him....I need to thank him...and I don't care what it takes...."
