Set during some obscure period of civil unrest, the world has been given the gift (or perhaps sin) of immeasurable pleasurable times and insufferable tragic times. They were both extremes of each other, and there was never any medium. People were fueled by either their insatiable desires, or cave into their lust for violence. Supposedly it has always been this way, and people have seemed to come to accept it. However it feels wrong and immoral to some people, and you are one of the select few. Some say that there was a time when there was a time of true peace, one of bittersweet happiness and acceptance of loss.
Suddenly a whirlwind of events fly by and you're swept up into a struggle for the existence of all beings that has been going on since the beginning of man itself. And everybody embroiled in this war will alter and affect the future timelines to come, of whether your people will learn to embrace conscience and intellect, or cave into carnal instincts and primitive emotions.
It's time to show those petty gods who exactly is bossing around who.

More combat than not. The setting may be at war, and the characters will likely get involved whether or not they seek it out.
God RP? Then what are the power limitation?
Well the gods live through emotions, so technically as long as any species with a conscience is alive then the gods will exist. However, they are empowered with the use of faith and belief, and the more people believe in them, the stronger they be. Of course this belief fluctuates over time, and because the setting takes place during one of social unrest, the faith weakens and people begin to question if their gods exist, meaning that the only difference between gods and others is the factor of immortality.
Basically, you can't kill a god unless people stop feeling the emotion that embodies them, but because not a lot of people believe they exist, they're about as strong as a normal being.
