Estelle yawned, stretching her limbs like a cat, which were stiff from sitting on the couch for too long. She stood up from her couch as the credits in the movie were playing. That was a great movie, she decided while rubbing her tired eyes. They felt like they were going to drop soon so she walked to the wall and flicked the switch open to be able to see better. Last time she walked in her house dark in the night without the lights on, she tripped on the table and stubbed her toe. Nearly broke a glass too.
The sudden bright light almost blinded her and made her feel more awake for a moment. She blinked, eyes widening before drooping, turning sleepy again once her eyes started adjusting to it. She hurried to remove the movie from the DVD player and put it back in its case. Then she turned off the television and started double checking everything, from the switches to the plugs and to the lock on the door. Even if she was terribly sleepy and wanted nothing more than to crash on her soft and comfy bed, safety goes first before anything. She wouldn't want a burglar to barge in her home and steal her precious stuff. Everything in this house was valuable to her.
Once she finished checking everything and was completely satisfied that everything was in order, she went to close the blinds near her front door. She was about to shut them when she noticed somebody walking in the streets. It could have been some random guy drunk off his arse or just out from a club, but he seemed to be too short for to be an adult. In fact, it looked like a girl actually, with bright reddish hair. I wonder what's she doing out in the dead night, and alone at that. Where in the world are her parents? Estelle debated to go check it out or not, her sleepiness alleviating a bit, but not really that much. In the end, her sympathy for the poor girl won.
She cautiously unlocked her door and went outside, still in her pyjamas. She shivered slightly from the cold, wrapping her arms around herself. She stepped forward and went to where the girl was at. She didn't look like she had a definite place to go, seeming to be aimlessly roaming around in the streets like a lost kitten. Estelle inspected her as she walked closer. This girl probably couldn't be older than 14. She did have red hair as Estelle had suspected, but it was too dark to see anything else about her features. It doesn't look like she would attack me or anything, she concluded hesitantly. "Hello? May I ask what you are doing here alone in the middle of the night?"

Madelina looked up at the woman before her, her trudging walk coming to a slow halt. Within 3 inches of her new acquaintance, Madelina looked up at her, blue eyes sparkling in the streetlight. Her eyes closed as she fell foward, landing on the girl in front of her.
Estelle was quite surprised when the girl suddenly stopped in her tracks and looked up at her for a moment with shockingly bright blue eyes. They practically sparkled in the dark night like a flashlight. Her eyes intrigued Estelle. They seemed so unworldly. However, she didn't have the chance to take another glance as the girl closed her eyes and fell forward.
Estelle's reflexes kicked in, and she quickly caught her before she face-planted on the pavement. She stumbled a bit from the force put onto her, but she managed to keep herself stable. She quickly went inside her house before any crazies or drunks think they are perfect targets for their bouts of craziness. Gently, she set the girl on the couch.
In the light, she can perfectly see her. She had a pale complexion and baby face, suggesting that she hadn't reached puberty yet. What is she doing out at night alone, she wondered. She checked her for any sign of injury, but there were none. Maybe she probably just fainted, or something. She had some questions running around her head, but she knew they wouldn't be answered until the girl wakes up. But until she does, Estelle was in need of a nice sleep. She rested her head on the little space left in the couch and slept there so that she would wake up when the girl does.

When morning came, Madelina was up and cowered in a dark corner. She waited patiently for the older girl to wake.
She had been studying her surroundings, watching everything with one eye open. Her pale skin in the sunlight was alot more like porcelain.
Madelina kept an eye on the woman she met the other night as she slept, her knees hugged to her chin, her long red hair draped over her.

Estelle woke up, still feeling a bit sleepy. She glanced to her window to see light shining through her blinds. It's already morning, she thought groggily, rubbing her eyes. She stood up from her spot, and stretched. She winced when her joints and spine cracked loudly. Oh my body, she thought, her body feeling stiff from sleeping in an uncomfortable position for so long. It was a bad idea to sleep like that. When she looked back to the couch, it was empty. Her eyes slightly widened. Where was the girl?! She looked around the room, and saw her curled up in the corner. She slowly walked forward, afraid of scaring the girl. "Are you alright?"
Madelina jumped as the woman came up to her. "Yes.."
She was hugging herself. "Can you please stop the sunlight from coming in.."
Her eyes glinted in their blue color as she looked up at the woman.

Estelle thought her request was a bit strange, but complied with her, and went to fully close the blinds. The room turned dim, and the girl seemed more relaxed now. After she did so, she beckoned the girl to come sit on the couch. "What is your name? And what were you doing outside in the middle of the night?"
Madelina slowly got up and sat daintily on the couch. "I like the night. However I couldn't hold myself up anymore cause I was very tired and very hungry.."
Estelle noticed she didn't give her name, but put it for later since the girl said she was hungry. She went to the kitchen, while glancing at her so that she won't get scared or anything, and opened her fridge. Luckily, she just went to the supermarket recently, so she had a lot of food stocked in her cabinets and fridge. She closed the door of the fridge and went back to the living room. "You said you were hungry, so what do you want to eat? I have plenty of food right now," she asked.
Madelina quickly went into the kitchen. "Do you have any meat?" She looked very sick but seemed to be alright in front of Estelle. Madelina awaited her response.
Estelle hummed as she took out some bacon from the fridge, which she forgot to put in the freezer(but oh well, she's going to be cooking it anyway), and some eggs. She heard footsteps and turned around to see her near the doorway. She motioned for her to sit down while replying, "Yes I do." She put on a pan on the stove and grabbed two plates. She always has some extra plates for any visitors. She put oil and started cracking the eggs first, and started frying them, sometimes pulling back from the hot oil spurting. She put two on each plate. Next, she cooked the bacon. Once she was satisfied with it, she also placed it neatly on the plates. "Here you go." She put them on the table, one in front of the girl and one on her side.
Madelina slowly sat down, a few small bats emanated from her when she connected with the seat but dissipated soon after. She sniffed the air and her stomach growled audibly. "Mmm..food.."
She began to scarf down the food impatiently. "This is really good.. I haven't fe.. I mean eaten on a while.."
