I'm not sure if this is possible or if it would be too much danged work but Katparker and I were talking and it seems to be agreed (at least with us) that it would be totally awesome if a PM could be turned into a chat.

Just a suggestion hope it makes sense.

It's not only being considered, I consider it a necessity for the site's continued growth.

It will not, however, be immediate. It is a very very very large project that will involve major code rewrites and converting tens of thousands of old messages from the old system and preserving them into a new system. I've committed to getting through the anniversary celebration and finishing the first stages of groups first.

Definitely go up vote it if you like the idea!
