Well, it's been quite some time. For those who recognize the name, I'm pretty sure nothing else needs to be said.
However, for those who don't, I'm the creator of Sauron Runecaster, my first RP character and the longest lasting character I've ever had in online roleplay. I started long before the days of Lycos (which the moderators should remember well) on a little known website called WBS (which I now long forgot what it stood for). I've been roleplaying for 22 years, since I was around the age of 9. I've been LARPing for about 12 years. Well versed in a variety of gaming systems, including Dungeons and Dragons, RIFTs, and Champions HERO's. I'm strongly intimate with the fantasy element, though I do occasionally enjoy roleplay from other genre.
I haven't roleplayed online steadily since the ending days of Lycosia (a sad event). I have popped in and out since RPR got started. I much prefer live roleplay as opposed to forum style (that is, chat speed roleplay, real time responses) because it's easy to loose place in a forum style when multiple people get involved (and continuity is a big thing to me). BUT, that doesn't mean I discount it entirely, nor that I don't enjoy it.
My style of roleplay can range from quiet and observational to direct and confrontational, childlike innocence to hard core adult material. I am of the strong opinion that if there is a roleplay I can't take part of, then I'm not trying hard enough (in terms of material, not in terms of quality). Let's start a session.

I think it's great that you are giving RPR a second chance. I understand how group rps can get kind of frustrating, but in a way, they are also magical. A collaboration between multiple individuals to create a fantastic world and plot. There is always one on one, or pm rping, where you rp with just one person other than yourself, which is alot easier just with keeping track of the plot.
With one as flexible as yourself, it sounds like you will be able to join any rp you like. You can take a look through the rp forums and look for any that may interest you, or if you had something in mind, even advertise your own! If you want to play with only one other rper, you can still put up an advertisement, or you can message other users, and see if they would be up for it. In my experience, these people are all crazy for rp, and if not overloaded already would love to start another one.

You might like a role play thread I started then. It's called "The Mystic Tavern". It's technically a pocket dimension, and all walks of life are welcome there (tech and magic alike). It's a very peaceful setting (which is provided), and is a throw-back to The Mystic Tavern from when Lycos.com had their role play chat available (ancient history).
Aside from that, perhaps I will see you around. I'm always open to some role play, and if you ever feel yourself bored, I've no issues with starting one-on-one role play in private chats either.
Wow...I just checked my inbox, and found messages between me and some of the original members discussing ways to improve the site. Might pour through it and see which of my suggestions may have taken hold
