In a far, far away, a man who goes by the name of Darth Vader, has succeeded in wiping out the Republic and Jedi order with the help of anew powerful with called Chaos. With there greatest enemy out of the way, they were able to easily conquer the universe, but one day Chaos vanished during battle and was assumed dead. This didn't stop Vader's rule, but seeing a powerful foe was gone the people a part of the rbillion decided this was the perfect time to stop hiding and...strike back.
Plausible legends of ancient magic, but current magic is not common.
Far future, perhaps interstellar travel (generation ships)
