Hello and welcome to CommonBlood.
CommonBlood is a mature, literate aandlong term Bloodborne roleplay with active members and a considerable amount of story and plot, with detailed worlds, classes and locations that add to the world of Bloodborne.
The Roleplay is set before the events of the game but after the closing of Gehrman's work shop, so there are beasts around but it's not apocalyptic just yet (so shops, bars and pubs are open during the day).
We are a skype based group and have different chats for different purposes (see info below)
All information will be detailed below, including NPC owning list, rules, details about the world and classes, as well as what you can expect from joining us.

R O L E P L A Y
Roleplay and chill: One way of how roleplay will be organised is via a public Skype group that members can join if they wish. This is where most casual roleplays will be handled with ease and where members can easily interact with one another or roleplay.
These roleplays, like I said, are casual and chill, meaning anyone can state that they wish to roleplay and anyone can join in on this.
The rules for this are as follows: Due to the publicity of this chat take any sexual roleplays into another chat. Not all of us want the roleplay spam to be lewd

This is self explanatory but no bullying or public arguing. If a debate turns into an argument take it away from the public chat or we will kick you from the chat.
Try and keep away from starting any major events in these roleplay groups. If you have an event you wish to put forward, hit myself or a co-founder up and we'll consider putting it into an actual event roleplay.
When talking OOC please separate from the roleplay with the use of brackets or any symbol you wish to represent you're out of character {e.g. "Hey guys, oh you're roleplaying? Neat!))]
Setting roleplay: This involves a more plot driven roleplay with a particular setting, e.g. a Nightmare setting, a Cainhurst setting, the list carries on. These are similar to the Roleplay and Chill groups, but they will be announced before the roleplay begins, unlike the previous setting.
The Rules for this are as follows: Stick to the specification! I can't stress this enough that if you'd like to be apart of setting roleplays that you need to stick to the actual setting.
For example:
"This roleplay will resolve around a Cainhurst conference. The Queen has asked all Vilebloods to attend a large gathering in celebration of the success of the gathering of blood-dregs. You have been sent an invitation to this event!"
This is just a small example of what a setting roleplay should be. What I mean by stick to the specification is as follows: As this roleplay is set in Cainhurst, you should only apply to roleplay if one of your ocs IS a Cainhurst member, whether a noble, servant or an actual Vileblood knight.
Another major rule is that these skype chats are ONLY for roleplay. Please keep community discussion in the Roleplay and Chill chat.
Major Roleplay Events: This is very similar to the setting roleplays, but with one major difference. These roleplays will involve all of us, and any who wish to partake in them, roleplaying a large scale event that has had considerable amounts of planning put into it. For example, as Common Blood is set very close to the time of the second Bloodmoon and the fall of Cainhurst, we predict to actually roleplay these events! Pretty neat, huh?
The rules for this are as follows: As considerable effort has been put into planning these types of roleplays, we'd appreciate if those who partake actually go along with the planned story and not go off on a tangent. For example, you can't have your Cainhurst knight fighting for the castle and then have him/her suddenly run off to Yharnam to chill with, oh idk, GASCOIGNE. Also, if you'd like your character to actually play a part in the overall drama of the roleplay, please run it by myself or a co-founder to see if it could work. Don't feel discouraged if we reject the proposal as we put considerable effort into these events and we try to make sure everyone will enjoy them. As these roleplays will be VERY large scale, information on organisation will be given closer to the time.
Again, like the Setting roleplays, stick to the specification. If your OC has no reason to be apart of the event then they shouldn't be apart of it!
In-game roleplay: Now these roleplays are rather unique, for they take place in-game. I will give an example of what one could involve.
Take in mind this is a brief example and the actual quests will be more detailed.
A T T E N T I O N
Quince the beast (TheCaptain) has been spotted in the Lower Pthumeru Root Chalice Dungeon, under the Glyph hxy7u64z, layer 1
Many hunter organisations call out to you to track and kill him:
Annalise: That beast-man has such fertile Blood-dregs. Go, my knights: For the honour of Cainhurst.
Barnabas: That beast has run rampant for too long, my church comrades! Seek him out and destroy him!
Valtr: Vermin squirm in that filth of a man . . . Confederates! We will not stand for this beast to continue the killing of men!
Eileen: It would appear that one hunter is not enough . . . Such a pity: I wanted to take that bastard down myself. Take him down for me, would you?
W A R N I N G
Quince is rumoured to not be alone. Expect assistance!
He is rumoured to be in the dungeon between 3:00-5:00 PM GMT Time
The Hunter's bloodlevel is 125 while the co-operator is rumoured to be 110
Turn character names on in the options when taking part for complete immersion
Indeed, these roleplays will involve an admin's character appearing in a Chalice Dungeon and you are tasked with either assisting them or invading them (That's right! Even if the specification says you must kill them, you can disobey it and assist the hunter instead, and vice versa). And of course, due to the amount of people all trying to invade or co-operate with the said admin, this'll make for excellent PVP fights, whether with the admin or not. If you wish to assist the said Hunter, please note on DA or message on skype the said person who is in control of the character for the co-op matching password they are using.
There are only two major rules for this roleplay mode: If someone you fight is scummy, do NOT send messages of abuse at them. It is exactly like if you bully or insult someone out of character in a written roleplay, as the only reason they were scummy in the fight was because they were in-character. A Vileblood knight is very unlikely to have a fair duel with an executioner, for example. If you'd simply wish to duel one of the admins, please note or message them and ask politely.
Here is a list of the admins which have a Playstation 4, Bloodborne, completed builds and working Playstation +

Fight Clubs are the last things we plan on regularly doing in Common Blood.
The rules are simple and easy to follow and the Chalice Dungeon we have planned for doing this in is easy to access and get.
The Glyph for this dungeon will be available closer to time.
As for the rules it's as simple as any honourable fight-club is:
Don't heal and don't gank, but in all honesty these are just to avoid triggering someone who dislikes healers and gankers, I personally enjoy being ganked! (I couldn't care less for respectability. If you want to do a scummy gesture be my guest but don't whine if you get hate

Of course, I can't enforce these rules as I wont be in your individual worlds.
However, take in mind that if anyone does this in an admin's world there will always be a co-operator in the shadows ready to jump in and punish the invader.
And if you manage to kill both moderators I applaud you

Lastly, if the person who you're fighting with does heal, feel free to heal too.

Are you familiar with the extensive world of CommonBlood?

No, you say? Ah, I didn't think so.
Well, fret not, good Hunter, for these notes will reveal to you the true face of Yharnam
and its inhabitants . . .

No, you say? Ah, I didn't think so.
Well, fret not, good Hunter, for these notes will reveal to you the true face of Yharnam
and its inhabitants . . .
N O T A B L E L O C A T I O N S
The city of Yharnam is a vast one. In order to become familiar with the places within Yharnam I present you all with a guide to this wasteland!
The Lords’ Quarters: A large, heavily guarded section of Yharnam for the nobles of this dying town who did not inhabit Cainhurst, but were born from immense wealth and the pomposity to claim the title of "noble".
Durham Hill: A large stretch of grassland on the outskirts of Yharnam littered with neat cottages and the home of Isabella, a church member who guards a Ritual Chalice. The land is said to be plagued by a Scratching Beast, so hunters beware.
Quince’s cottage: Deep in the Forbidden Woods of Yharnam lies a medium sized cottage protected by a towering wall of thorns. This is the den of the infamous Quince the Beast and the lesser known Circe, the Woman of Weight.
March's Lane: A small hamlet where Athfort has built a cottage, which he has surrounded with flowers, bees, and horses that he rears himself. Be warned, he likes his privacy.
Oedon Chapel: Unlike the Ward we know of in the game, at least twenty Yharnamites take refuge in the Ward and they have even expanded the ground to the first layer that leads to the upper Cathedral Ward. However, none dare go further out for fear for beasts . . .
Blood Fiend’s Den: Located in an unknown part of Yharnam lies the HQ for the Vilebloods when they are away from the stronghold that is the castle. This is where the Vilebloods rest and relax while on break from butchering victims for Blood Dregs. Even vampiric psychopaths need a tea break.
Irreverent Alley: An alleyway in the foulest area of the Yharnam slums where the blasphemous and forsaken gather. There are dark rumours of what goes on there, but it is unknown how true they are, as only those trusted by the guilds of thieves can get anywhere near.
The Noble’s Head: In Irreverent Alley lies the well incensed and protected Noble's Head, a pub were the less wealthy of Yharnam take refuge. Be warned if you’re rich, as this band of thugs and hunters are likely to kill you for your purse, or simply for the fun of it . . .
The House of Gascoigne: The house of Father Gascoigne and Viola Gascoigne. Meet Gascoigne before his decent into madness . . . However, by no means is he completely right in his mind.
The House of Chester: Ever wondered how the people of Yharnam managed to grow incense and food when the city was overrun? Well, now you do. In the centre of Yharnam lies The House of Chester, a large industry that was once governed by a rather cruel man. However, this mysterious man has reconciled for his sins after being sent into a strange nightmare by an Amygdala. Using his huge factory-like estate, he has used the rest of his family's fortune to expand his empire and hire hunters and Brutes (See character info for details on Brutes) to grow, farm, cultivate, raise livestock, plant incense and to grow vegetables/fruit for the survivors of Yharnam. They are also tasked with protecting the huge walls and clearing the skies of any threats. He pays these workers with a share of the food and a place to make their home. Every month, hired brutes plod around Yharnam, dragging crates of supplies to the noted safe havens in the city.
Upper-Cathedral Ward: Currently barricaded and blocked off, the Upper-ward is riddled with dangerous brain suckers and the infants of space. In the heart of it all lies Ebrietas.
The Clock-Tower: A base of operations for the hunters of hunters, home to Eileen and Axel.
The Rose Gardens: A peaceful slice of Yharnam devoted to flowers and beauty, sadly so rare in this cursed city.
Archibald's Manse: A large mansion that has fallen into ruin that was once the home of the famed inventor Archibald, although some say they see blue bolts flying from the windows. (Inspired by this artwork by OniRuu)
The Fishing Factory: The most dangerous place in Yharnam, although the cataclysm has not yet occurred in our RP. One day, many upright beasts found fishing spears in the factory and took over Yharnam, pushing it into a post-apocalyptic state. This has not yet occurred, so we may rest easy for now.

Vilebloods
Claudio (ExistentialOcto): Many know him as Annalise's adviser, but his true function is to handle the Blood Fiend's reputation, which means injecting low-rank Vilebloods with special blood to pass them off as Alistair while the real deal is away.
Alistair the Silenced (Reapertheguardian): Considered to be the most successful Vileblood and a real problem for Yharnam. Alistair stalks the Yharnam streets, killing anything for Blood dregs, even other Vilebloods. He is the Queen’s closest warrior, able to receive blood directly from her. Alistair has only been known to speak and show his face to the Queen herself, for he truly loves her and wishes to one day be the father of her child of blood. Alistair is successful not because of skill, but because of the art of trickery. By all means, he is no push over when it comes to wielding his Chikage or Reiterpallasch, but he has acquired various tools to trick and overpower his foes via ambush. Whenever Alistair is sighted in the area, it’s best to stay alert.
Claudio (ExistentialOcto): Many know him as Annalise's adviser, but his true function is to handle the Blood Fiend's reputation, which means injecting low-rank Vilebloods with special blood to pass them off as Alistair while the real deal is away.
Quebec (ExistentialOcto): The young captain of the Cainhurst musketeers, Quebec is rather spoilt and prone to anger, although he is often cool and mocking, although sullen. He hates visiting Yharnam above all else and prefers to snuggle up at home.
Luther Black (Reapertheguardian): Luther was the heir to a long line of gun craftsmen who worked alongside the workshop to develop guns such as the Ludwig rifle and even a prototype of the Evelyn. Luther was the only friend Mordecai had. Both sat at the very back of Professor Roach’s lessons, discussing literature they had read. However, when Luther was 17, he suddenly vanished and his mother and father were killed. A Vileblood was reported to have done it. However, a year later he returned with a large arsenal of firearms and adorned with a Cainhurst mask. Luther was a Vileblood.
Checkers (ExistentialOcto): A Vileblood who takes after Alistair in terms of loyalty. She is a bed-fellow of Annalise, and shows her loyalty to the Queen by constant companionship and physical intimacy, although her actual feelings to are those of loyalty and duty rather than real love.
Cassius Labelle (Thranduuiil): A newly initiated Vileblood who has no enthusiasm for the job and depends of Samuel's stash for his ascension through the ranks. What Samuel gets in return is a mystery to the people of Cainhurst.
Mikhail (occylt): The king of Cainhurst, Mikhail is dedicated to his wife and seeks to show his affection to her, but is sometimes unable to articulate himself or touch her without bruising her. Otherwise, he is a stern and strong leader.
Samuel (ExistentialOcto): A Vileblood who used to be a mere thief. Due to dealings with tricky and deadly people, he sought Cainhurst as asylum, using it for his defence. Instead of using Blood Dregs for the queen, he stashes them away to sell to some prince or king for their immortality and the erasure of his copious debts. No one is aware of this betrayal, but he is looked down upon by others due to his few offerings. If word got out, he would surely be executed on the spot.
Lorna (occylt):
Kalette Halt (Japhan): A young hunter who resides with Abigail Hartell as an adopted daughter. Her place in Yharnam is tenuous, and every day is a battle for her own existence.

Black Church Members
Barnabas (ExistentialOcto): A senior Black Church member who is utterly loyal to the Church at the expense of his own autonomy. He will literally do anything he is told if a higher person tells him to: even take his own life. And he'll do it with a smile.
Abigail Hartell (Thranduuiil) A well-known senior Black Church member of 13 years experience, Abigail has 3 children, a singular devotion to her family and thighs that could burst a watermelon. She takes no joy in killing infected innocents, but she does what she must to cleanse Yharnam and provide for her family.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
White Church Members
Cynthia (ExistentialOcto): A White Church member who dedicates herself to experimentation for the sake of her own fame and glory. If only her brother lived to see the messes she makes.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Clergy
Diandra Sable (Thranduuiil): A blood saint of the Healing Church. Since settling down in Yharnam, she has rarely seen outside the four walls of her home, even going so far as to believe at times that she is merely dreaming and that Yharnam does not exist.
Benedict Moore (ExistentialOcto): Archbishop and Grand Blood Minister, Benedict is responsible for the distribution of the sacred healing blood throughout Yharnam. He carries a holy relic which eats away at his body for the reward of enlightenment.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Choir Members
Antony Tarre (Thranduuiil): A young and talented doctor from a foreign land where he was known as "Divine". The young divine and his betrothed, Diandra, eloped to Yharnam and made a life for themselves, although their romance has since cooled into something unrecognisable, and the young doctor has his sight set on the stars rather than his wife.
Archbishop Julius Crane (Reapertheguardian): Once there was a man who conversed with the Great Ones. His name was Julius Crane and he was considered close to Ebrietas. The lost child Ebrietas very much wanted Julius to become a Kin and take her into the cosmos. However, Ebrietas was worried her knight would fall to madness, similar to how Rom had. So, in preparation for the event, Julius went on a pilgrimage into the Itz Dungeons and stayed in the cosmic dungeons for twenty years, building up a natural resistance to the insightful aura.
Roe (Japhan): A mute-by-choice Choir member who works closely with the White Church and brings a touch of gentleness to the generally barbaric experiments of the white-robed doctors.

Dream Hunters A.K.A. Palebloods
Anna Grimm (ExistentialOcto): Anna is a cheerful, sweet girl. She's fragile, but can hit you like a hammer! She is a pale blood who reportedly came into direct contact with a Great One. Because of her (albeit now ended) connection with the dream, she has inhuman strength despite her frail body. Her current location is unknown.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hunters of Hunters
Axel the Raven (Reapertheguardian): A hunter who is more serious in his work. Axel is a great hunter of hunters, performing his jobs with little difficulty and no remorse. He co-directs the activities of the Hunters of Hunters and calls his personal subordinates "Raven Hunters", although it never caught on.
Myles Brunswick (ExistentialOcto): A young Crow Hunter who enjoys the thrill of being above the law.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Beastly Hunters
Quince the Beast (Reapertheguardian): Quince is a grey-clothed man with silver, scruffy hair and sideburns. Quince is a peculiar creature, for he is over 100 years old, looks about 70 but in fact is still in the mind-set of a 40 year old man! Many have concluded that it is the ancient blood that has kept him alive for so long, and this has further affected his beast form. Quince is a stubborn man who thinks of himself as a beast. If you call him human, expect to be hit or worse . . .
Caarin (Japhan): A beastly hunter who transforms into an agile blond beast. His motivations are unclear, but what is true is that he is often up to mischief and enjoys harassing Gilbert and co.
Athfort (Thranduuiil): A hulking giant of a man who claims to be Abigail's father. He is isolated, and his beastly nature makes him unapproachable, but with his family he shows a softer side. Just don't approach him if he doesn't like you or your affiliates. You will lose a body part or two.
Gremia (ExistentialOcto): A woman who lives in the darkest depths of Yharnam trying to make the best of her life. She works tirelessly to make her home area (sometimes referred to as her territory) as safe and clean as possible, but that can sometimes be impossible.
Aten (ExistentialOcto): The Fang Boar himself is the last of his line, the last of a line of criminals who worked with honour and dignity. He still dons a huge metal boar shaped helmet if he's receiving audience with someone as if he is a king. In reality, he is an old man with even older ideas knocking about in his skull.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Yharnamites
Henry Linderman (ExistentialOcto): An elderly gentleman who does what little he can to provide for his children, who provide minimal help due to their frailty.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Lone Hunters
Artemis Grimm (ExistentialOcto): He was once considered the most skilled hunter in Yharnam, aside from Gehrman who was his tutor. Artemis Grimm is a baffling man, for he has been alive since the first beast stumbled out into the streets. Preferring to use his cane in combat, he is a well adorned man with receding, blond hair and grey eyes. An accident long ago that crippled his left hand prevented the use of a gun, and age has caused his hunting skills to dwindle.
Benjamin Lawrence (ArticunoKingSpy): A lone hunter who was drawn to Yharnam by the promise of a challenging hunt, he is almost drunk on the thrill of the hunt, if not the blood itself. He states that the hunt is an opportunity for humankind to test their mettle, if it had a purpose at all.
Circe (Reapertheguardian): Kicked from the black church members for affiliating and later being married to Quince, Circe spends her day being a humble house wife with her beloved. Who knows what she sees in that beastly man . . . Could it be the romance? The taboo of the situation? Maybe it’s something far darker . . .

League Confederates
Artemis Grimm (ExistentialOcto): He was once considered the most skilled hunter in Yharnam, aside from Gehrman who was his tutor. Artemis Grimm is a baffling man, for he has been alive since the first beast stumbled out into the streets. Preferring to use his cane in combat, he is a well adorned man with receding, blond hair and grey eyes. An accident long ago that crippled his left hand prevented the use of a gun, and age has caused his hunting skills to dwindle.
Camilla Cathrine (Thranduuiil): An ex-Powder Keg who was captured by the School of Mensis and locked away in Yar'har'guul for many years. This meant she did not participate in the burning of Old Yharnam, meaning she was furious when she came back to see it in the state it is now. She decided to join the League as she forsook being a Powder Keg.

Foreigners
Diandra Sable (Thranduuiil): A blood saint of the Healing Church. Since settling down in Yharnam, she has rarely seen outside the four walls of her home, even going so far as to believe at times that she is merely dreaming and that Yharnam does not exist.
Sophia (ExistentialOcto): A stranger from a foreign land. Enigma and wife to the boss. She employs a mocking sense of humour and the appearance of aloofness to keep people at bay.
Cillian (ExistentialOcto): Sophia's bodyguard, a dark, brooding and stern-looking man with nothing but contempt for anyone but his lady, for whom he has nothing but love. Gods forbid he show it.
Iago Esposito (ExistentialOcto): A Flavian wretch of some renown, Iago plays with his prey before he bites, but is often too caught up in trivial things to bother in the first place. He's absent and ironically humorous, much to the chagrin of his fellows.
Sebastian (Thranduuiil): An inspector who came from outside Yharnam. He claims that he was royalty, but he's far away from home and far from his authority. He still commands respect, and will make sure those who do not respect him will, by any means.

Heretics
Anna Grimm (ExistentialOcto): Anna is a cheerful, sweet girl. She's fragile, but can hit you like a hammer! She is a pale blood who reportedly came into direct contact with a Great One. Because of her (albeit now ended) connection with the dream, she has inhuman strength despite her frail body. Her current location is unknown.
Prof. Nathaniel Roach (Reapertheguardian): Professor Roach is the moody teacher in the Oedon Chapel. He teaches the kids and teens about the hunting world. He is an old heretic who studied beastology, but was expelled. He has since made a name for himself in writing the Yharnam Guide to Beasts, which became very popular with the Church. He has a wheelchair with a mounted Gatling gun on it and is a very sour man. However, don’t be fooled. He can walk but he’s just incredibly lazy!

Victor and Hector (Reapertheguardian and ExistentialOcto): Victor and Hector are the captain guards that live in the House of Chester. They both underwent the surgery to become Brutes (Look to Brick troll enemies and fat executioners). A small populace of these hulking inhuman hunters resisted the insanity that followed and became gentle yet dangerous giants. Because of the old blood that was injected into them, their life was also extended.

Church Experiments
Victor and Hector (Reapertheguardian and ExistentialOcto): Victor and Hector are the captain guards that live in the House of Chester. They both underwent the surgery to become Brutes (Look to Brick troll enemies and fat executioners). A small populace of these hulking inhuman hunters resisted the insanity that followed and became gentle yet dangerous giants. Because of the old blood that was injected into them, their life was also extended.
Selena Biryn (Yogsoth): A woman who was infested by phantasms during a secret ritual, she now seemingly acts as the host of a cosmic hive mind which appears to have its own whims and fancies beyond human comprehension.
Valentine (Reapertheguardian): A brute who despises the church. He underwent the surgery hoping to become stronger, but it disfigured his body and his family left him because of this. Due to this, he despises the Choir. He was once a Powder Keg, and upon finding out that it was the church that poisoned Old Yharnam, it simply gave him another reason to hate them.
Niccolo Di Confortola (ExistentialOcto): A young ex-hunter kept young by the phantasms in his guts who acts as a clairvoyant for the Church. He believes he is cursed.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Inspectors
Sebastian (Thranduuiil): An inspector who came from outside Yharnam. He claims that he was royalty, but he's far away from home and far from his authority. He still commands respect, and will make sure those who do not respect him will, by any means.

Nobles
Nevan (occylt) A young man of nobility whose mother was involved in Church experiments. As a result, a Great One has taken an interest and affection to him, or so it would seem, granting him divine protection. As of now, he is in huge debt, which is not something his guardian angel can help with. Why would a god have any concept of money?

Criminals
Aten (ExistentialOcto): The Fang Boar himself is the last of his line, the last of a line of criminals who worked with honour and dignity. He still dons a huge metal boar shaped helmet if he's recieving audience with someone as if he is a king. In reality, he is an old man with even older ideas knocking about in his skull.
Lucas (ExistentialOcto): A boisterous young man who flaunts his confidence and dresses to impress, but often has a hard time living up to the expectations he sets for himself.
Padfoot (ExistentialOcto): A simian-faced fellow with a knack for stealth and thievery. He idolises Lucas and doesn't have the brains to realise he shouldn't be so open with such a thing.
Alexius (Thranduuiil): A young man who usually sticks with Lucas, using him to inflate his own ego. He uses his youth to lure victims into a false sense of security to rob them blind with the help of his fellow Fang Boars.
Henry Linderman (ExistentialOcto): An elderly gentleman who does what little he can to provide for his children, who provide minimal help due to their frailty.

NPCs
The hunters that are canon to Bloodborne's story and will play a role in CommonBlood. (See Ownership of NPCs List)
Laurence: The good Vicar, Laurence holds ultimate authority in Yharnam, and, although he is dedicated to his people's welfare, he can go a little drunk with power
Eileen the Crow: A young Eileen hunts the streets with her fellow comrades in arms, such as Axel.
Gascoigne: Father Gascoigne is an old hunter who is one of Eileen’s marks. He was a good friend on Anton Locke and considers Mordecai his step-son, which is weird, considering Mordecai used to have a crush on his eldest daughter.
Ethel and Bailee: Gascoinge's younger and older daughters.
Djura: A hunter who protects the beasts of Old Yharnam. He greatly respects the work of Quince and agrees with his philosophy: if we shouldn’t kill beasts, we may as well blur the line. He agrees less with Quince’s all-beast diet, but you know, baby steps.
Gehrman: The man bound to the dream who trains the dream hunters. Rarely seen in Yharnam, he is still a powerful hunter.
The Doll: The loving creature that Gehrman made as company for him and all dream hunters. She seems to have a sense of herself, but is completely dedicated to hunter satisfaction and her only desire is to see hunters safe and pleased.
Gilbert: Gilbert is the 17-year-old ward of Djura and an apprentice Powder Keg. He is prone to divergent and confusing trains of thought that send him into either spurts of enthusiasm and drive or bouts of sullenness. (This is obviously extremely non-canon, we don't actually think there's much "truth" to this in the game itself)
Chester: Little is known about the Lord of the Chester, apart from that he was once a cruel noble who was transported to a nightmare world. Upon returning, he admitted his sins at the church and strived to make amends by using his family’s wealth to bring food, incense and supplies to the strongholds of Yharnam.
Henryk: An old, retired hunter garbed in yellow robes. A close friend of Gascoigne, they are a formidable duo. He’s also the father of Viola, and loves his grandkids to the point of dying for them.
Valtr: The master of the league, Valtr the beast-eater is a passionate (and sometimes scary) man who dedicates himself to the crushing of all Vermin. He is loyal to his followers and those he helps, but some wonder if he's losing to the madness of Vermin.
Simon: A harrowed hunter trapped within the nightmare. It is unknown how long the man has been within that hellish place and how he managed to survive.
Maria: Maria is within the Hunter's nightmare at her own will and (in our alternate universe) can return to the world at any time. (To patch things up the Hunter's bone you find at the grave is actually Artemis's bone and Artemis wanted his remains to be buried with his comrade Maria) The grave in the dream is more of a memento to Maria. It does not actually contain her remains as, unknown to Gehrman, Maria never died in our version, yet it is still emotionally linked to the grave.
Viola: The troubled wife of Gascoigne who prays for her husband to retain his humanity.
Yuri: The last scholar located at Byrgenwerth who protects Master Willem.
Master Willem: Currently mildly sane, Willem at this moment in the plot is capable of verbal communication and has not ascended to anything just yet.
Logarius: The leader of the executioners, Logarius is currently planning the assault on the Vileblood castle.

As one would expect, we have come up with theories and head-cannon lore for Common Blood and things are not truly the same as the original game. However, these are only small changes and these are them as follows (See Tin Foil Top Hat Bloodborne Theories):
Beast form: The way beast forms work in our rp is that if a person accepts their beast form with open arms and does not resist, they can obtain their humanity within, unless on a Bloodmoon or when driven to anger. This is why not many hunters can change into sane beasts, as most Yharnamites reject it and this rejection makes them go mad.
Timeline: It is slightly different than the cannon Yharnam timeline. For example: Gascoigne and his family have been moved back to this era, as well as his daughters and Djura. Although the hunters of Gehrman have been disbanded and the first Bloodmoon has passed, the Vilebloods have not been slaughtered yet and the Executioners are yet to storm the Cainhurst grounds. (I will post a timeline chart of all the major events: Common Blood Timeline. It's wildly inaccurate and very subject to change)
The Hunter's Nightmare: Some people believe that ONLY blood-drunk hunters go into the nightmare, but some think that when any Hunter or character related to Byrgenwerth in any way dies they are bound to the nightmare in an endless hunt. In order to make the death of OCs less impacting upon members, we have chosen to go with the latter, so you can continue to roleplay your OC in the Hunter's Nightmare roleplays. Our theory is that the reason the Old Hunter's re-spawn in the nightmare is that they are being constantly revived by the nightmare to continue the hunt, slowly going mad with each death.
TL;DR: You live a life involving the hunt/beasts, you're probably going straight to the nightmare when you die.
Bloodmoon: While we agree that it was the School of Mensis that beckoned the Moon Presence on the Bloodmoon, we don't believe they actually beckoned the moon itself. We believe that the MP can only be beckoned on a Bloodmoon, when the sun's light reflects of the moon every 33 years. It's during this time that the MP can be summoned. Not only that, but the Beastblood becomes stimulated on a Bloodmoon, making all who are infected rabid monsters, even those who have supposedly mastered their beasthood. Also, because we feel that it has only been about one-hundred years since the first beasts started popping up, we have concluded that at least three blood moons have happened, and we will tell you what happened on each one.
The 1st Bloodmoon (canon)
During the time when Hunters killed relatively human-like beasts in secret, the Church beckoned the MP on the Bloodmoon and the moon caused a reaction with the beasts of Yharnam, stimulating their beastly metamorphosis and forcibly changing the inflicted into monsters. This was the Bloodmoon which sparked the beginning of the scourge and it brought the plague into the light. After the events was when Yharnamites started going on the hunts with Hunters and the harrowed Hunters disbanded as the Church had no need for them, due to the secret being out. This Bloodmoon has happened in the roleplay but it's highly possible there will be side roleplays set in the time before the first Bloodmoon, before the Hunter's workshop disbanded.
The 2nd Bloodmoon (Non-canon)
The second Bloodmoon which descended from the sky and caused the, already large and deadly beasts, frenzied and mad. This greatly reduced the population of Yharnam and the numbers of Hunters and church members. It also was the cause of the fall of the House of Chester, meaning incense and food was starting to become limited. This Bloodmoon has not happened in-roleplay but it is soon.
The 3rd Bloodmoon (canon/represented in-game)
The third Bloodmoon which descends in the actual game of Bloodborne. With most Hunters dead, food and incense almost ran out and the Yharnamites inside, this Bloodmoon is the cause of everyone's deaths in Yharnam, leaving only the most skilled Hunters (including the Good Hunter) alive. This Bloodmoon has not happened and is likely to never happen in roleplay, being 33 years in the future of the current RP.

Hello and welcome to CommonBlood.
CommonBlood is a mature, literate andlong term Bloodborne roleplay with active members and a considerable amount of story and plot, with detailed worlds, classes and locations that add to the world of Bloodborne.
The Roleplay is set before the events of the game but after the closing of Gehrman's work shop, so there are beasts around but it's not apocalyptic just yet (so shops, bars and pubs are open during the day).
We are a skype based group and have different chats for different purposes (see info below)

(some characters may be in more than one category)

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Maybe it’s something far darker . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Foreigners
Diandra Sable (Thranduuiil): A blood saint of the Healing Church. Since settling down in Yharnam, she has rarely seen outside the four walls of her home, even going so far as to believe at times that she is merely dreaming and that Yharnam does not exist.

House of Chester Workers
Artemis Grimm (ExistentialOcto): He was once considered the most skilled hunter in Yharnam, aside from Gehrman who was his tutor. Artemis Grimm is a baffling man, for he has been alive since the first beast stumbled out into the streets. Preferring to use his cane in combat, he is a well dressed man with receding, blond hair and grey eyes. An accident long ago that crippled his left hand prevented the use of a gun, and age has caused his hunting skills to dwindle.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

C H A N G E S W E M A D E T O T H E L O R E A N D T H E O R I E S
