Morgause (played by Raider-jack29)

"When I was very young, father raised us on his own. With little in the way of money. All we really had was each other, and our small house by the lake. Mother had passed on a few years prior."
She began as she took a deep breath.

"Lancelot was a squire for a man simply known as the green knight. While apparently our father owed a debt to, one he had collected during his brief time of drunken grieving after mothers death. One day he came to our home to collect his debt, and when father couldn't pay him...he ordered lance to kill him. He did so without a second thought, and I was forced to sit and watch as my father's body was mutilated by my own brother. After that he went back to pretending like everything was normal, like what he did was natural."
Amber (played by Mathgeek124)

She smiled and laid he head on his chest. She blushed, but stayed there, loving every second she didn't mess up.
The Hanged Man (played anonymously)

While the court feasted, squabbled, and danced, clamorous hoofbeats filled the courtyard. A lone rider galloped through the gates, flying the Tyfdil banner to allow him swift entry. Confused guards tried to get an answer from him, but as soon as the panting horse came to a stop, the knight dismounted and hurried towards the ballroom. By his stumbling gait, clearly not all was well--and he left a trail of blood in his wake. "Morgause, Morgause," he kept muttering, his glassy eyes fixed straight ahead. He clutched the tattered Tyfdil banner tightly as he pushed open the ballroom doors. He was a scruffy enough knight already, known as Sir Crow, but a recent battle had left him with scuffed armor, ripped cloak, and an arrow protruding from his right pauldron. His face was pale from lack of blood.

"Qu-Queen--"

And that was as far as he got. Holding out Conrad's banner, his eyes rolled back and his knees buckled. He collapsed in a clatter of armor.
(( OOC : No worries, don't worry about RP, take a break if you need to ))

Merthyr nodded in understanding at her explanation.

"As a squire, Lancelot was expected to follow orders unquestionably, regardless of family ties" mused Merthyr

"Hard as it may be for you to accept... that day Lancelot spared your life, in fact. If he had refused the command, the Green Knight may have dismissed him from service and passed the debt onto you both and brought you both slavery, disrepute and harm.

The laws of Camelot allow for debts to be collected against a man, his wife and any children, slaves or servants said debtor may have until the collector is satisfied the debts and interests are settled.

By proving his unwavering loyalty, the debts were halted and you were spared, else, your father would still have been killed but you would be locked at The Green Knight's tower or dungeons, labouring away or lingering behind rotting rusty bars, if alive at all, and your brother would either be dead or slaving at the mines.

Normally, sir Bercilak de Hautdesert, the wealthy lord many call the Green Knight, is much too strict when it comes to collecting debts... yet the laws permit it" sighed Merthyr.

"I would be indebted to you if you could put such bitter past behind and forgive the grim execution that took place then" asked Merthyr "Lancelot has always appeared burdened, but never made a comment on it, at least now I know so thank you my lady for sharing such heartache" commented Merthyr

"I will be sure to amends such laws when I rule in Camelot" nodded Merthyr

He was about to offer bringing her in for rest and drinks when he saw the knight burst in and collapse clutching the banner that Sir Percival held whilst accompanying his father Conrad out of the fortress.

His eyes widened and worry was pounding in his chest as he broke into a run from the gardens all the way to where the wounded man laid on the cold stone, leaning over him without needing a second look at the bloodied banner

Taff, who had reached the man first, stepped aside to make space for the worried prince. He had already started inspecting the wound, but ceased briefly seeing Merthyr Tydfil's distress

Gawain sent knights and guards out to scour the surroundings for any more survivors or wounded men or indication who might have caused this. He looked at Morgana concerned, ordering her to his own rooms for protection whilst he himself rallied the search parties

"Lock up the fortress under curfew, all peasants are to stay indoors within the city's walls" commanded Gawain thinking of the unarmed peasants grim chances against armed hordes of robbers, bandits or enemy armies

Josh embraced Amber tightly escorting her and Morgana to Gawain's rooms as per the given orders.

"Come you'll be fine, I will stay with you to protect you" offered Josh
Amber (played by Mathgeek124)

She nodded and mentally slapped herself for not trying to help.
Thinks: I could have helped. There were too many people though. Dammit.
Morgause (played by Raider-jack29)

Guinevere got swept up in the confusion as before she knew it she was the only one in the gardens. She ran to fallow Merthyr in a hurried huff, only to trip like the clumsy girl she was and be knocked unconscious by the choatic hord taking shelter in the castle. Only hours later would she awaken, alone, and scared. But for now she slept before the cold stone of the palace.

Morgause herself rushed to the man. She examined every inch of his back, he was horribly bloody in her opinion. To her it appeared as though no mere mortal could do this, then gain that was exactly what she was affraid of by this point. "Someone attempt to calm down the guest. I'll see to this mans wounds personally."
Josh gallantly guarded the door, keeping Morgana and Amber safe from the mass of commoners that had been allowed into the fortress lower grounds for protection

Morgana took the vial that Amber had prepared earlier, laying down on Gawain's bed and drinking the content to drift off to sleep, too distressed and ashamed between Merthyr courting maid Guinevere as if he were a bachelor and this new finding about her brother and king Conrad missing whereabouts.

Gawain nodded at Morgause statement, leaving the wounded knight in her care. He ordered the servants to take the unconscious man to the queen's chambers, sending in four knights to stand guard over her in case the newcomer meant the queen any harm; all precautions were never enough in Gawain's opinion.

"Sir Prodius, as usual, you're protecting the queen" appointed Gawain watching Lancelot quickly walk in too, trailing after Prodius dutifully. Gawain smiled in relief knowing that, with Lancelot there and a sword nearby him, no harm would come to his mother.

Gawain waved the party out of the castle to scavenge for clues and indications of what ill fate had befallen the now missing king Conrad, bringing Mordred with him, who in turn brought Merthyr as his squire, after much grovelling, begging and insistence from the royal.

Gawain was rushing out of the castle to go to scour the city and immediate vicinity when he saw that in Merthyr's chambers there was a goblet on the window seal and it was brimming, filled to a spilling point and beyond. The cup was strange looking and it certainly had not been there before. He grabbed the goblet to take it to Morgause for inspection, the cup bubbling at his touch as he held The Cup of Retribution that was meant for sorcerers hands.

"Mother... what is the meaning of this?" asked Gawain concerned and worried about curses

The goblet was growing hotter the longer the knight held it to present it to his mother. It grew hot enough to the point that it burnt Gawain's hand blistering it and causing Gawain to drop the Cup of Retribution spilling the golden liquid onto the floor leaving a trail wherever Sir Gawain had passed, more of the golden liquid filling the cup to the tune of Merthyr's shame and anguish, which was indeed very great at that point.

Gawain looked at Morgause alarmed at the colour of the content and the fact it continued to pour out without proper explanation.

Merthyr dutifully took up Mordred's coat of arms, willing to do almost anything to be allowed to be at least a squire and join the knights in the search for his father's fate and whereabouts, his mind too occupied to even notice Lancelot was not there or Guinevere was missing.
Morgause (played by Raider-jack29)

Morgause ripped the cup from Gawain's hand. "You fool be careful. The cup overflows because Merthyr's debt has been replayed. Only sorcerers can touch this cup!" She snaps at her eldest son before setting it down.

Somewhere distant, Guinevere slipped briefly into consciousness. Before her were blurred shapes resembling small blue lights that whispered amongst themselves. Soon she found herself placed on some large body of water, that oddly felt warm to the touch. That was when she once more found herself falling for the siren song of darkness, so she slipped into unconsciousness.
Amber (played by Mathgeek124)

She smiled sadly at the princess as she paced around.

Crow lapsed in and out of consciousness as the crowds swarmed around him. He could hear voices--they sounded as though they were coming through deep water, muffled and muted. He tried to say something but his scarred lips merely twitched, and no sound emerged. He was spirited away to the queen's chambers, where he was laid upon his stomach to give Morgause access to the arrow protrusing from the back of his shoulder. Upon closer inspection he had other wounds as well--his right gauntlet was gone, revealing a bloody and horribly scarred hand, and his breastplate had several punctures in it. He groaned softly and stirred, trying weakly to push himself back to his feet. "I need ... queen ..."
"Ahhh rest now, you'll be alright" soothed Lancelot looking to appease the wounded knight.

Taff came over to Morgause offering his services as a manservant.

"I brought hot water and fresh linen to clean up and bandage the wounds" muttered Taff Gelligen bringing the bowl over to Morgause, holding it for her.

Josh sat by Amber letting Morgana sleep.

"Do not be saddened my fair damsel none of this is your fault" soothed Josh looking for ways to cheer her up.

Merthyr Tydfil stood still by Mordred's horse, ready to march on foot like the other squires, holding the reins and waiting for Gawain to mark the departure. As soon as Sir Gawain returned, despite his injuries, the party of knights and squires crossed the gates and started searching deeper into the paths and forests seeking clues to no avail
Amber (played by Mathgeek124)

"None of that, no. But the solution she chose to get rid of her distress, I am responsible for." She frowned and sat.
Morgause (played by Raider-jack29)

Morgause noded to Taff as she accepted the bowl of water.
"Taff, would you mind if I asked you a question? It appears I haven't seen my maid Guinevere in some time. I've been so caught up in the ruckus of this night I can't help but worry."
She spoke with genuine concern in her voice as she began to clean the knights wounds.

Crow's eyes fluttered as he looked briefly up at Lancelot, before he collapsed once again. The four soldiers worked together to do the laborious task of rolling Crow over to remove his armor, piece by piece, having to break the shaft of the arrow in order to do so. Then they left him to Morgause while she removed his gambeson to clean his injuries. He was in bad shape, but judging from the number of old scars on him--especially his arms and hands--he had suffered worse before. Every so often he stirred and tried to speak to Morgause, never managing to form cohesive words.
Josh smiled at Amber

"Then you're a goddess of dreams, if you knew how much lady Morgana has suffered from nightmares.... this is the first time I see her in a quiet restful sleep" complimented Josh

"Yes of course I will go seek Guinevere right away" nodded Taff placing the items down and rushing to seek her right away
Amber (played by Mathgeek124)

"They are poison to the mind, I should know. I've had them all my life after the incident." She looked down upon saying this.
Morgause (played by Raider-jack29)

"You need to rest sir crow. Wait to use your voice till tomorrow when you'll be well enough to speak."
Morgause spoke softly as she continued to tend to the wounds of the night.

This was a bad omen in retrospect, for just as she thought the darkness had passed. Yet another shadow has been cast, this one seemingly bigger and much more dark
Try as Taff might, he would never find Guinevere. Not in the gardens, nor in the dining hall, nor the barracks, or even her own chambers. It appeared as if she had disappeared into the air itself, the only sign of her being the Lilly that rested in her hair earlier that night. Which now rested just outside the entrance to the castle gardens.
The Hanged Man (played anonymously)

Crow opened his eyes just barely to peek up at Morgause, unsure if she was real or an illusion. Finally they closed again and he lapsed into a deeper unconsciousness, weary from the battle.
Taff came back to Morgause, concerned, with a deep frown, having checked the entire castle twice.

"Guinevere is gone... she's missing... I have checked the castle twice. Is there a reason for her to travel or leave? Did she go to gather herbs? I found her flower by the entrance" reported Taff catching his breath after all the jogging
Morgause (played by Raider-jack29)

"I never asked her to do such a thing. Are you absolutely sure you've checked every inch of the castle. And the surrounding grounds?! If so we need to get this news amongst the castles inhabitants. I would truly hate to lose her."
