Nikita nodded, "I figured.", she said, even though he had already explained to her before. She glanced up at Andrew when he loosened his grip and looked away, "Something wrong?", she asked, but then realized he had noticed her ear position. She slightly pushed herself away, looking toward the fire.
He just smiled shyly at her, nothing's wrong..." he looked down at his feet-paws when she moved away a bit.
Nikita gave a small sigh of frusteration, hoping Andrew wouldn't notice. "Well, I think I might go to sleep. I'm pretty tired.", she stifled a yawn, turning to where her head was clsoe to the fire. "Night Andrew.", she gave him a playful wink before closing her eyes: hoping to break the recent awkward moment/silence.
He noticed but said nothing and then nodded, watching her move from his side and suddenly he felt lonely. He looked at her then grabbed his spear and went to lean against a tree and to watch over her.
Nikita quickly dozed off... This was strange for her. She wasn't usually the type to fall asleep so quickly, but she figured she could trust Andrew. She kind of felt bad that he couldn't sleep, but then again, he never looked tired. She pulled her knees up to her chest, curling up in a tight ball near the fire.
He waxy he'd over her quietly and about half way through the night, he went and sat next to her, gently pulling a blanket over her body and resting an arm on her side.
Nikita slightly stirred when Andrew covered her with a blanket. She was thankful for that. She had been a little cold... She opened her eyes a moment, seeing what time it was. She closed her eyes again, nodding her thanks to Andrew.
He smiled softly at her and nodded, gently rubbing his hand up and down her side.
Before Nikita dozed off again she thought, "Does he ever sleep?", she smiled to herself, her right ear twitching softly right before she fell asleep. She thought she wouldn't be able to fall asleep again but she was wrong.
When she woke up that morning, Andrew would in fact be sleeping, his chest against her back and one arm around her in a loose embrace. He was laying atop the excess blanket so he wasn't actually touching her bet very close.
Nikita woke up to Andrew sleeping behind her. She could still feel his warmth, even through the blanket. She rolled over to face him, keeping in a small laugh. She didn't want to wake him but had a feeling she already had.
Her slow movements made him stir but nothing else. He grunted slightly in his sleep as she rolled and he wound up shifting so that he was closer to her, his arm giving an involuntary squeeze as he did.
Nikita gave a small smile, curling up against Andrew. Her ear twitched slightly and her eyes came open. She sat up, gently moving Andrew's arm off of her side.
He gave a light shiver as she moved away then grunted and rolled onto his side, mumbling something about a paw. His upper body rose with a deep sigh before going back to the rhythmic rise and fall of sleep.
Nikita shook her head, rolling her eyes in a playful manner. When Andrew mentioned a paw, she looked down at her own hands, before looking over her shoulder. The fire was no longer burning, dark ashes were all that remained. Nikita gave a small shiver, half wishing she wouldn't have left Andrew's side.
Not too much later, the wolf woke up and stretched, flicking his ears back and forth as he looked around. He smiled when he saw Nikita then scooted closer to her lifted the blanket around her shoulders, "Good morning," he said quietly.
"Morning. Any plans for today?", Nikita asked, sliding closer to Andrew. It seemed that only a few weeks ago, it was warmer. She didn't have to use blankets, or any of that. Not that she had all of that. She was so glad she had met Andrew.
"Stay alive," he shrugged and looked around, "Unless you wanna do something, I can't think of anything really."
Nikita gave a small laugh, "Well I figured.", she said before thinking a moment. "I got nothing. We could go swim, hunt, mountain climb, anything really. I mean, it's not like we can go back.", she gives a shrug as well, her tail flicking from side to side.
"We can go swimming," he smiled and slowly stood, "Let's eat first though."
